I now do t get and can’t listen to radio 1.. my life’s over isn’t it?

What Other tell tale signs that things have changed and you’ve passed over from being hip and with it, to being on the outskirts looking in?

I’ve never been hip or with it, and I’ve always been on the outskirts, but rarely have I bothered looking in. If you turn away from that narrow window, you’ll find a world of variety and wonder waiting to be discovered.

I listen to lots of stations,

Smooth

Greatest Hits

Absolute

6 music

Times

Radio 4

Soleil

I treat radio as i would TV and flick around for the best programme. I haven't listened to R1 for 25 years.

I’m an avid radio 4 and 4Extra listener, I abandoned R1 decades ago and have now all but given R2 the elbow, only Tony Blackburn and Johnny Walker.

I left a steel panther CD in mine years ago when it went for MOT. When I came to collect it, all the lads came out to greet me and let me know how much they had enjoyed it and where they could get a copy (it was a burned copy)

Crumbs!

Never mind radio 1. I struggle with radio 2 these days!

The presenters seem to talk about trivialities that hold no interest for me, I have resorted to Classic FM!

Radio 1 died for me years ago, playlists of same songs on a loop.

Moving to Six Music was best thing I did.

But if you want to feel old it’s when an album you love and think of as contemporary comes up on Tracks of our Years or something similar.

Or the fact that seminal albums like Parklife and Definitely Maybe turn 30 this year. While Whatever I Say I Am can order a beer this year.

Or when at work and you wonder why the kids there don’t have a clue who Faithless are, and you find out most of their music was released before they were born.

I used to get off the train at East Croydon and there'd always be people outside handing out flyers for nightclubs, raves, gigs, etc. I realised one day that these people had stopped offering them to me. I felt decidedly middle aged.

Happily gave up on radio 1 about 15 years ago - radio 2 was so much better but now enjoying Capital radio due to playing more dance tunes which I prefer to listen to when driving.

I unwittingly have a car with this.

It has changed my life. A press of a button and the steering wheel gets lovely and toasty. It's amazing, especially on morning like today!

I once had a very intense relationship with a woman who combined being a seamstress with owning a patisserie.

I had to end it though.

She was a sew choux path.
