Are you quite an easily read person? No poker face, feelings easily read, you get the idea.

0r are you naturally more cards close to your chest?

Can you read people quite well?

Ha, yes! You're quite an open person facially and I like that. Expressive? Would you say you're like that online?

I’m definitely easily read… and heard

I’m an open book and tbh I have that many written tattoos I actually do read like a book too

I like to think I can read people incredibly well. There have been the odd mistake in reading them but normally the Scooby senses are bang on. Mwah x

I think I’m an easy read but I’ve had some people say that I’m really not.

It’s confusing to me because I’m of the mind that I’m embarrassingly transparent. Perhaps it’s my professional persona at work that’s much more even tempered and impenetrable. But all they have to do is ask!!

By expressive, you mean I pull ridiculous faces? You'd be correct Online? Very much depends on my mood. Sometimes I'm feeling expansive.

Um.

Maybe like a New Weird book.

The words are all there. The intent and the feeling and everything that should be expressed is being expressed. But the language is off kilter and the phrasing is odd and often wildly misinterpreted without having the entirety in context

Yes, easily read, easily seen and easily heard.

Do you ever think that your Scooby senses might feel bang on because of confirmation bias? You're more likely to have views confirmed rather than challenged because of preexisting assumptions.

Embarrassingly, I've been told numerous times that my face gives everything away. I really envy those with a good poker face!

I need to know someone fairly well before I can read them.

I think I'm easy to read/figure out. I am very forthcoming and open.

I don't think I see other people as clearly - I struggle with that. It's to my detriment sometimes.

That’s an interesting question lovely as it could be seen that way but for me no. I’m totally open about how a person will be before I get talking online or offline to them. I know not everyone is like that but for me it’s the only way I know how to be

Not embarrassingly transparent no! I don't think either way of being is bad (she types knowing full well she's rather transparent).

Maybe people don't want to ask because of that professional erm boundary? Not sure if that's the right word.

So why do you think you can read people easily but they can't read you? Do you not think you misunderstand people on perhaps an equal level?

No, not weird. Not weird at all. Sometimes it can feel like that especially if you're neurospicy. Like you're talking a foreign language that's almost wilfully misinterpreted. What do you do to try and bridge the gap or do you just say fuck it and leave people to perish in the chasm between understanding?

New Weird like the genre. It's one you kind of have to submerge yourself in and accept that the things you're reading now will make sense with the context that comes later.

Not just calling myself weird.

I do my best to make sure the people that matter to me get as much clarity as possible. The more casual ones can wade in the shallows by themselves

You do have a very expressive face. It's endearing! I like seeing exactly how you feel before you've opened your mouth.

Any consolation, it's harder to read your tone through text. Slightly. Tiny bit harder.

Do you ever get instant feelings about a person? Or do you just, kind of ignore it because you know that there's not much to go on?

I would say most of the time, yes.

I’m inclined to be far more open to those who are open with me- as everyone does. I think the only people who have told me I’m hard to read are the people who are very closed off to me

Thank you! I'll take that as a win

I do get vibes from new people at times, good and bad. I tend not to make a judgement based on that, but will observe from a polite distance before making my mind up. I'm slightly wary of most new people at first anyway because I know I'm at a social disadvantage, what with the 'tism 'n stuff.

It's such a thing! I'm not sure why we're not more aware of it. You know, on an individual level. Sometimes I mentally check myself when I find myself thinking "yep, that confirms it" because... does it really? I'm only reading what I want to and ignoring everything else.

When it comes to reading people I think we can fall quite quickly in to that fallacy.
