I wouldn't go there, they are an ex for a reason. People rarely change. Whatever put you off them before will start rearing it's head around the corner within a few weeks once their facade drops.

Just sex is complicated enough with a stranger that you both agree it's "just sex" with that normally equates to one wanting more.
