It was so awful wasn't it? I tried telling myself it was going to redeem itself. No. It didn't. Even with Matt Smith. I ended up watching Last Night in Soho after to try and bleach my brain.

Other films I've seen recently;

Dune - the new version. Well made but missing the eccentricity of the (admittedly flawed) Lynch version to give it a bit of light and shade.

The Matrix Resurrections - didn't expect much of it but liked it. I can see why the meta aspects might put people off but they're right up my street. Probably the second best film of the four in the series.

The Lynch version of Dune has even been disavowed by Lynch; which is a pity, because it was a good effort, and has far more of the essence of the book than people give it credit for. I love it.

The dialogue and the acting are awful in it, but it's the funny and weird touches Lynch adds to it that work - both book (from memory) and recent film take themselves extremely seriously and are a bit of a slog for me as a result (I didn't finish the book).

Saw "Drive" (Ryan Gosling) recently, so good I watched it again a week later. For once the sound track was noticeably brilliant. Also has Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad), just loved it.

You can choose English language plus English subtitles, I think it’s originally in Spanish.
