I never really had any sense of smell or taste but about 2 years ago it changed completely.

I can't smell anything at all 95% of the time and 100% of the time everything tastes the same; bitter or sour.

I miss food and miss perfumes so much

Anyone else suffer? Were you born that way or did it go suddenly? I can't be the only person with this problem ...

Gosh, I just wanted to acknowledge that I’d find that really hard as they’re two very emotive senses.

Is there anything that can be done to reverse this medically?

I had some gastric issues and see a specialist but when I asked about it she says there is 1 thing it could be but the trust doesn't offer the test. GP just gives me esomeprazol which makes me ill.

No I've never got covid

I have known people lose their sense of taste and smell after a head injury.

I lost mine after covid the first time, it came back quite a bit after the second time but after the third time last March, it’s still very poor.

Strangely enough though, smoke is now something I’m super sensitive to to the point that it makes me feel sick very quickly.

So can you not taste anything at all? I think I'd prefer that to everything tasting of vinegar
