Songs that remind you of the past

I was listening to simply read before and this song seems to sun things up for me, and I think this must have happened to Mick at some point, the song is called so not over you, and these are some of the verses from that song;

Don't know why I still slept on my side of the bed The emptiness when you were gone kept ringing in my head Told myself I really had to move along now Stop regretting all the things I left unsaid,

So I tore up your letters, took your picture off my wall I deleted your number, it was too hard not to call Felt a little better, told myself I'd be fine Got to live for the good times up ahead,

All my friends try to tell me, “Better find somebody new Why waste time being lonely, when there's nothing left to lose?” Anything to get you out of my mind I'm a fool if I thought I could forget, and I could not forget

Cause everywhere I go There's a love song that reminds me of you And even though I knew I had to be strong I was still not over you

Its kind of odd you cant remember the good times they just seem a faded dream but the bad times are much clearly how odd the mind and the heart works?

many songs remind me of past events, some great and some not so great, most people remember negatives more than positives, thats why so many woo is me threads go up, when in reality as many good things have happened to them

I sometimes hear songs I heard at funerals and they make me remember.

I'm the other way around. I seem to remember the good points not the bad. Keeps me positive

The song, Please Release me takes me right back to my childhood whenever I hear it. Makes me smile or chuckle. My dad, who has never been one to drink, had the odd drink at xmas or family dos. Always ended up singing that song at the top of his voice to serenade my mom. Not quite the song you would normally choose. Still it was all in jest and he would never remember the next day.

3 funerals recently, all played 'Time to say goodbye', cant even bear to listen to that song now. Funny how songs remind you clearly of emotions x

That was played at my exs fathers funeral. Makes me very emotional every time I hear it. I have to switch it off or walk out the room

After my dad died i spent a couple of weeks maudling over a song he used to sing to us as kids. But often on the radio a song will come on and i will smile as it reminds me of a certain time and place

At two funerals, they played 'Danny Boy'. That song brings tears to my eyes.
