I give them until 4am. For maximum impact you need to be fast asleep and they need to make as much noise as possible

Have you been watching them the whole time? May already have some buried treasure.

Pissing on them might be another option

I think vinegar works, maybe place a small bowl in base of each plant

Apparently citrus rind is another efficacious method of warding the little buggers off from their unwelcome pooping antics

Don’t be fooled by their feline deviousness…They’re likely merely lulling you into a false sense of security before launching an all out shitting assault!

More than likely it's on the back burner of their minds... they're there, we can take 'em any time no rush

I've now changed my mind about getting a cat, I love my plants too much.

I'll stick to cuddling the hamster instead

What plants did you get OP?

Ohh get a cat!! Just pick the right kind of plants and it’s fine. They love pushing face into a Ponytail palm or a Calathea

They're definitely silently scoping them out to target in the early hours of the morning.

Knock them over first so they can't, assert dominance.

I had an amazing dragon tree once, it was huge and I'd had it for years - walked in to discover my then kitten having an amazing time swinging its heart out on each branch... It had killed it within a week

I knew someone who put their orange peelings on the soil level in pot plants, they said it stopped the cats messing with their plants.

Both of those are ‘mildly toxic’ to cats, just something to be aware of but hopefully will spend more time digging up the soil than eating the plant x
