Why do so many still have them? Surely everyone knows by now that they are pointless.

They're often 10x longer than the actual profile text too.

If you have one, why?

I don't know why they do but I find them a useful filter.

I'm not sure if the disclaimers are pointless tbh....I think some do stand as a legal document....A Barrister was advising me to put one up in my bio

I just saw one which started "As Fab is now a publicly traded entity, anyone can violate your privacy..."

Say what now?

They're pointless. All of them.

I very much doubt a real barrister would say otherwise.

Im fairly sure Fab is privately owned- and that particular nugget of a disclaimer usually morphs suddenly in to something about facebook and the American law system...which probably doesn't apply to 'sticky bob' from Wigan, who just wants some wank bank material for the long, lonely nights

If it makes me people feel safer then, go for it.

I often have a little chuckle though. Sydney University are famous among swinging circles it seems :D

Makes me laugh when I read " fab is a publicly traded entity " etc . Those who post these things have no idea . They just copy and paste nonsense for the sake of it . As for taking legal action against misused photographs they put in the public domain they must have very deep pockets .
