Looks hard work. Are these events payment on entry or something?

It lookd more than just a group meeting in a pub or something

Titz Towers, North Notts

I'd image in that it varies with each event and if room hire is required and so on

Delightful Bliss

More and more venues are asking for deposits now to secure a space, before covid it was £50 for a room for 60 people, nowadays it can be over £200 for 60 people, sometimes you can get real lucky and find somewhere cheap, but with remembering that most fab people want a private space, that is not filled with Joe vanilla on a night out, lots of socials are in private areas of a venue and that costs cash

Leeds

I think they take a lot of work, managing the room, the guests ensuring a good mix of couples & singles, there's always lots that don't turn up or cancel last minute.

We usually pay £5-10 each to attend some hold fundraisers others I think it covers the entry and is less likely to cause cancellations if they've paid.

Have a look in the meets and request section at some of the advertised events, location is another huge one, being accessable for a lot.

We host the Bedford social, this is the first time we've had to charge entry - £5pp due to the venue increasing their booking fee to £300 and we simply cannot afford to cover that ourselves. It's very admin heavy to begin with but once you get the paperwork in place the organisation manages itself & we can plan the fun stuff like games, prizes & challenges etc. We make no profit from the event, any money left over from costs goes on the Bar tab until its spent.

The hosting is extremely fun, especially mixing with people that don't come across that well on their profile for whatever reason. We don't have any favouritism on who attends - it's literally first come first serve.

Mrs Batman is certainly the social butterfly & loves to entertain our guests!

It's a great mix of complete newbies to seasoned swingers & the mix is quite eclectic but it works fabulously xx

P.S. Our next one is on the 02/03/24 - forum post is now live.

Some are paid, some arent, you’ve got to understand, rooms cost money (some) to hire, so a contribution from everyone would be welcome.

It can be a group of people meeting in a pub, that’s what I aim for, a relaxed atmosphere with no expectations. But other socials might be a bit sexier, I dunno,…I don’t seem to get invited to those.

Hard work? Yes and no. It can become harder than it should be sometimes. But as long as everyone has fun, I’m happy.

Oh please the opportunity for such a criminal empire is severely lacking (unfortunately).
