Feeling bad about it or apologizing?

If you said or done something, then you realize you were wrong,nasty,evil...etc.

Do you apologise or just feeling bad about it?

I mean real life or here.

Not counting little misunderstandings or things taken out of context.

You were being wrong, nasty or evil in the heat of the moment.

Intentionally you wanted to hurt feelings, but you feel bad about it later.

Well I am not usually intentionally nasty but there have been times when I have been in anger. And yes I apologise. Sincere apologies are good for the soul.

I say to the kids it’s not a magic word and doesn’t undo what happened.

So it’s better not to have done the thing you’re sorry for than say it out of politeness or as a taught reaction

If I feel sorry or regret something I say sorry.

There are probably times in the past as a very young woman when I didn't

I can’t relate. I’m not nasty, I’m not evil, so I don’t got out of my way to do something to apologise for things like that.

Anytime I’ve upset someone it was not with intention, and I’ve always apologised even if all I know is that they were upset with me, that was enough to say I’m sorry.

I don't mean when something is taken a wrong way or didn't think it over, but apology is nice for that too.

I meant when whatever leads to there, you intentional wanted to make that person feeling bad. You might realize it later it was uncalled for, too much or it goes against who you really are.

I'm not a nasty person and it takes alot for me to go off on one.

If I have gone off on one I've got all the facts I need to kick off. I only argue with all the information, that way it's hard to argue back. I rarely apologise.

Oh.

I don't get that feeling.

People are defined by their choices. If I want to be better then I'll work to not act that way again. But the reaction I had was the reaction I had. An apology means nothing without genuine intent to be better. And I appreciate knowing someone is actively trying to be better more than hollow words of apology. So I'm not going to pay lip service to someone I felt the need to act that way to.

I listed "wrong" on purpose.

It can be something little everyday thing.

Like:

* Skipping the queue

* Pissing on somebody's back wall, because you didn't find a toilet

* Riding the bus without a ticket...etc.

Every single person has done something wrong intentionally at some point in their life. Sometimes you just didn't make the right choices and it was leading to it.

Obviously in some circumstances you can't apologize, but feeling bad about it and deciding not to do it again is a good thing too.

If I have berated someone and it then transpires I was wrong to have done so I will apologise.

I am also aware that just because I have offered an apology it is owed no acceptance.

I will often refuse an apology myself, for a variety of reasons.

The ones that make me the most angry are the heads of organisations where they've come up through the ranks so must have known what was going on, denying all knowledge of wrong doing until some poor desperate person nearly destroys their mental health trying to bring it to the authorities attention. Then an investigative reporter gets hold of it and suddenly everyone is sorry.

Exactly!

I forgave some really nasty people in the past.

Simply because I've seen they are trying hard enough to make up/get on.

I could forgive to everyone ever done memorable bad things to me, except my father.

Simply it's too late for that.

Plus he's confirming it every 10-20 years he's still a nasty and disgusting human being.

Never wrong pal, wouldn't know.

Next question?

But seriously I apologise. I think if I've done something wrong I need to admit it, I don't want the other person dwelling over it or questioning their own judgment because I couldn't admit to my wrong doing.

But again

Never

Wrong.

If I unintentionally caused upset to someone I care about through words or actions I have no issue admitting the mistake and apologising.

Sometimes, it's conditioning. I can be guilty of it in some settings. I think it stems from having to take the rap for everything that anyone did as a child, including my brother or his friends. It was never believed that he'd done anything and he never would own up and so to stop my mother's horrifically screaming and swearing, I would just say it was me. And say sorry.

Habits are hard to break sometimes. How often it is that I apologise for needing a ramp or someone to carry something, I can't even work out.

Yeah I think that is what it is. My issue with it though is being treated like someone who needs to be apologised to constantly. It's being cast in the role of an abusive person that bugs me.

IRL if I'm wrong I'm wrong and I've no problem apologising.

I don't apologise on behalf of others though or for things I had no hand in.

On fab I've never said or done anything that would require an apology so it's not a concern.

I've no time for those who pay lip service to the word sorry and are completely insincere.
