Not knocking those who genuinely do crave the attention, but for me, it feels quite fake.

Am I being too harsh?

It's undoubtedly because people want the attention that's derived from people looking at and scoring them. I don't think that it's a bad thing at all, we're all after attention on here one way or another.

I think you are being harsh, it's easy to avoid giving the attention of you don't want to
