PS Happy NY if it’s not too late to say it.

I don’t know what’s the BEST, but some of my favourites...

NIGHT OF THE LIVING DEAD - Everyone dies. But when our hero dies, you don’t know why.

Racism? Mistake? Friendly Fire?

ALFIE - He doesn’t get the girl. He learnt nothing. And life is about to get more complicated

HARD CANDY - What happened when the Cops showed up...What?

CLUE - Multiple choice ending.

Apparently the writer/director was worried about what Stephen King would think of the changes he'd made to the ending, but King told him that that was the ending he would have gone with if he'd thought of it!

Regardless of the fact Stephen King wanted the film to end the way it did, I feel to me it was still crazy and not necessary!

Beneath the Planet of the Apes.

Shortly after the leader of a religious cult is shot dead, ("Your god didn't save you, did he?") a mortally-wounded Charlton Heston sets off a nuclear doomsday bomb.

The screen goes white, accompanied by a voiceover:

"In one of the countless billions of galaxies in the universe, lies a medium-sized star, and one of its satellites, a green and insignificant planet, is now dead".

So glad someone else mentioned this movie. Spielberg’s first full length (TV) movie, and the slow death of the monster. Absolutely NOT what you’re expecting from a ‘70s movie!!

(Watch out for the bloopers that made it into the movie though… lots of unintended reflections of ‘crew’)

Some movies should have 2 or even 3 different endings. An example could be the Italian Job. Instead of it ending on the edge of a mountain cliff not knowing if they get away with it.

There could be an alternative where they just drive off with the gold. But you never know which ending your going to see when you go to the movies.
