"Yes. I'd send my friends that. Its good to show gratitude. Good to get it too. " Yes, I'm similar. My friends definitely receive that message because I'm feeling all soft towards them and it's nice to show thanks. Appreciation for them being them.

"I send them a video of me wanking to the videos we took of her getting railed. Y'know, a personal touch " You really go above and beyond don't you? Truly selfless.

"Or words along those lines. Do you send that message after seeing someone (platonic or sexual)? Do you like receiving that kind of message? Nah I don’t send that kind of message. It’s a bit needy. I don’t judge anyone who says it though. I suppose it depends on the person - I have a mate who absolutely hates when people grovel. He preferred jokes and piss taking. The other day a woman sent a text to say “thanks” to him after sex and it really put him off her in a big way." He sees it as grovelling, that's interesting

"I often send that type of message after seeing platonic friends, especially if I've been to their house. I word it appropriately though. If I haven't had a great time but I like the person I'll say words to the effect of 'it was good seeing you'. If I don't like the person but politeness calls for a follow up I say 'thank you for meeting me'. " Yes of course. It would be odd if there was a saved message copied and pasted regardless of how you feel. There's an element of politeness definitely - you can express thanks without saying or hinting 'let's do that again'.

"I usually send a ‘thanks for tonight/ last night, was really good to see you! I had a wonderful time.’ But usually it’s after I tell them I’m home safe or they tell me they are. " This for me too

"No. We say it to each other when departing with a kiss and a cuddle and message normally later that day " Ah, that's fair enough. Everyone has a different way of doing it.

I think knowing and having compatible communication styles is important - for some it might be seen as being needy, for others no message like that might be seen as being rude. It varies so much.

"Fist pump them, walk away. Block them " Fair. You've done what you need to, no need to prolong contact.

Yeah can totally get that .. had that exact kind of stand offish comment before usually spells the ends of it for me.

"Within my friends we always message each other when we get home safely. Because some of us are liabilities and there’s always a “wonderful night, thanks for coming out”. Every meet (except for 1 ginormous asshat of a man who doesn’t deserve even my thoughts) asks me to message once I’m home. And there’s always been a “that was amazing, can’t wait to see you again etc” I think it shows respect to ensure someone is safe & also happy. But that’s me. I can see where “thanks” as a stand alone comment may look odd, but as a whole example as above it’s a good thing. I’m now wittering and rambling…" Not at all! That's really sweet. I like when people say "message me to let me know you're safely home". Especially if I've traveled. It's like a little sign of respect and care for another. People who are liabilities need to be checked in on.

"Usually a text when they got home. In the 16 years I was with my beloved everytime he left me to go home he would ring me when he got home and say thankyou for having me I had a wonderful time. Every single time"
