Banging a TV

I was banging an older TV quite hard last night, stupid thing wasn't doing what I wanted it to, and now I think its dead.

Any suggestions for new good tvs?

I want something quite big but also slimline and easy to pick up. Don't care if its smart or not.

"Hope it wasn't plugged in "

Not sure, I was playing with it's big remote but it was lifeless.

Maybe that's what happened to Jenifique?

You should really treat the TVs with care.

St Leonards

The smart ones get a lot more adventurous once you've wiggled your firestick in a few different holes.

Hope that helps .

No ones ever needed to bang me around a bit to get me working...

Once Im warmed up though, twiddling with the external controls can achieve some pretty dazzling results

Your first priority is getting rid of that dead trannie... before trying to get a new one...the smell of a decomposing body is quite off putting to visitors...

Stockport

That was for the old TVs and radios with valves (before transistors were invented, ask your granddad). They were like little lightbulbs about 4 or 5 cm high which were fitted in sockets (rather than soldered in) so they could be easily replaced when the filament blew (every six months or so). The got hot while the TV/radio was running, cooled down when it was turned off, this made them gradually get loose in the sockets. Banging the box with your hand would settle them back into the sockets, it did actually work to fix it!
