So it's that time of year again.....time to hop on the weight loss train.

The best I've ever done in terms of weight loss and blood work changes was when I did low carb so looking to do that again but maybe some carb cycling for days when I'm lifting heavy (for me).

Anyone follow this lifestyle? I know topsy on here before was a huge advocate for it and had lots of great tips.

I’m full Keto and have been for quite a while

At the moment I’m 42hrs into a 72hr water fast

Keto suits me, have plenty of energy and great mental clarity.

It's just the first few days of getting through the withdrawals I hate the most lol

These days places are more set up to deal with low carb/keto etc

I did low / no carbs a few years ago. I lost loads of weight and got myself soooo fit.. but have slowly slipped back into my old ‘bad’ ways.

I do need to get back on the bus of this in 24 … for health and fitness reasons.

Good luck to all who try.

Did it a while ago but would never do it again. I lost a decent amount of weight but my strength was nonexistent and my muscles were flat. It works but it definitely isn’t sustainable.

I've had a really slack December so definitely need to get back on it. The squidgy bits are a bit too squidgy.

But I don't really cut anything out, just track my calories more carefully (keeping protein intake high) and normally lose weight slowly and steadily. I know I wouldn't stick to any kind of restricted diet, and am personally not a fan, but good luck to you all!

Yeah I did that last year as well and lost a couple of stone so going to probably mix the 2. Track my calories but focus more on protein and minimal carbs.

I always get to 2-3 stone loss then fuck it up.

I did it when I was younger , carb cycling on lifting days and even went full keto for a while. Felt weak as fuck and tired.

It works , kind of, for a while. But unless your whole life is dedicated to how your body looks and the gym , it won’t work for very long and then you up-yo back to pizza

I would only do things that are sustainable, healthy and work long term. Things that there probably isn’t a latest book about on Amazon

This is always my opinion

If you change your diet up drastically to lose weight, you’ll gain it back unless you stick to that diet

I think people are better off learning how yo eat what they like, but in the right portions. You can maintain that forever. I can’t see many people being able to maintain a low/no carb forever

I eat low carb, and have since 2014 with occasional indulgence for a meal or drink whilst on holidays. I carb cycle and train heavily.

I have done it so long because it’s the only way of eating that has made me feel mental clarity and sharpness instead of sluggishness. It’s never negatively impacted my training. The times I eat a high carb meal/food I feel awful physically and mentally. My stomach swells up. I resemble being nine months pregnant. It’s absolutely awful.

I also do IF. The best advice, find something that suits you and your lifestyle and can be sustainable for you. It’s not the same for everyone.

I'm doing Keto and the fella does 16:8 fasting, they both work well with exercise and diet.

I think it's best to cycle through your carb intake, for example, low carbs day 1, medium day 2, high carbs day 3, and repeat. You need carbs to continue to feel energetic and to give your body energy to help burn fat. Something like that. I read it somewhere

Yeah, the only diet worth doing is one you can stick to, as they say. I'm an 'everything in moderation' advocate!

I was really into low carb, not quite keto and I did alright. Now I just do 16:8 fasting, but I need to get back into low carb, my double chins are getting double chins and the bum wiggle is turning into a miniature earth quake. So yep I need to get back into something
