Big or average is subjective, if it's a ring to go around your balls as well as cock then it's not as simple as cock size.

Your 1st consideration is metal or stretchy IE silicone, rubber or something similar like leather, personally I would try a plain simple silicone one for a 1st try, i would try a 40mm size then see how you get on with it size wise.

2 points id make, 1 metal rings don't necessarily help get you hard like a silicone one will by squeezing your bits, letting the blood flow in but slowing the blood flow out, but a metal one, once your hard will definitely keep the blood in, so much so that your cock can get that hard it can actually hurt and I can only wear one for so long, I think they recommend no more than 20 minutes then have a break, leave it off for 10 to 20 mins then go again but your cock might get that hard it becomes uncomfortable, with a metal cock ring I could have a fair chance of knocking a whole in a wall.

Point 2, shave your knackers if using silicone/rubber, if your a bushy fucker then a silicone ring catches your pubes taking them on and off.
