Somewhere else

So badly that it possessed your body and your soul through the night and through the day!!!

Until you finally get it… and then you realise… that it wasn’t what you wanted after all?

St Leonards

I'll play.

Yes to the first bit.

No to the second bit, unless I've forgotten.

Which would be unlikely.

"I'll play.

… and then those selfsame, sickly little thoughts, now go and attach themselves to something… (or somebody) new!

And the whole goddamn thing starts all over again.

Do you mean the good thing ending eventually?

If you do, that's part of its whole "goodness" to me...knowing that the real world requires constant re-evaluation and reinvention. It was good, was good for as long as it needed to be, and then was good that it ended.

Or have I not got your meaning Faith?

I do this all the time I guess it's part of my dysfunctional personality.

I'll become obsessed with something convincing myself that it's absolutely necessary,do loads of research on the item and anything that is in direct competition.

It becomes something that takes over my every waking moment.

Then one of three things happen.

1: I buy it then instantly feel guilty and regret it.

2: feel guilty for wanting to buy something for myself then end up getting a cheaper alternative and end up regretting it.

3: after all the research and hours spent researching and in the case of a car I was looking at many test drives.

Not bother at all and carry on with things as normal.

Whatever it is I can't buy anything without looking at a few dozen reviews and alternatives first.

I'm sure I want it.

I will deal with disappointment somehow I guess.

Worry about that later.

I think there's a distinct possibility you're just quoting song lyrics and I've missed all of them x
