Somewhere In The Ether…

Ey up good folks again

I’ve previously talked about the above highly fascinating phenomenon which comprises a vast array of varying symptoms, both physiological and physical.

My simple question is: Have any of you experienced it in any form and if so, in what form did/does it manifest in yourself (and how commonly do you experience it)?

Somewhere In The Ether…

"What is it?"

It is best described as a myriad of unusual psychological and physical effects that occur post orgasm.

Symptoms vary wildly from involuntary laughter, aches, pains, crying to hyper sensitivity to light etc.

I usually give out a sigh after orgasm but that’s more just an expression of relief that my little friend managed to stay the distance.

I do cry occasionally. It's very cathartic. I've cried after good runs too. The flood of sensations and emotions is sort of choking you up but when you let it release - everything else can "clear out" too. Such as tears, the tension, the voice stuck in a moment of breathlessness. And as you fall into the state of tangled emotions, that primal scream or growl helps you switch off the cognitive part of brain and truly indulge in pleasure instincts. Seems we don't only eject cum or juices, we get to clear out lots of feelings as well. Let that voice out let those tears flow let the thighs shake and chest be flashed. It's a sexual reset.

I believe it can indeed be a symptom

The proposed science behind it is equally as fascinating; it is speculated that the array of unusual effects are brought about by the sudden release of such chemicals and hormones as oxytocin, dopamine, and vasopressin to name but three.

That is beautifully worded if I may say so x

I concur wholeheartedly; The orgasmic release comprises far more than a mere physical ejaculate/sensation; it also encompasses an outpouring of emotions

It is technically post orgasmic but I’m guessing that a haughty scientist out there somewhere decided that Peri sounded more fancy

Sometimes I feel a sensation of being able to fly coupled with uncontrollable laughter/crying, my lips (on my face) become extremely tingly, sensitive, and pulsate. It’s happened to my fingertips too. I’ve had very specific located headaches that feel like a ‘ball’ of ache in a very precise spot. I cannot close my legs for a long time as my labia touching one another is the most extreme sensation I’ve ever experienced.

When this happens it’s an extreme energy sucking moment and after it’s passed I instantly fall asleep whether I was sleepy or not. It’s never been a long nap but it’s almost like the body switches off completely and resets if that makes sense.

Anglesey

I don’t orgasm very easily/often, but when I do I would estimate that I burst into tears about 75% of the time. Usually experience uncontrollable laughter the rest of the time.

Absolutely; spontaneous and uncontrollable laughter and/or crying are two of the more commonly reported effects of the said phenomenon.

More extreme examples include hallucinations, feinting and in extremely rare cases, coma(!!!!)

I believe I know what you mean about tingling but I get it in different areas. Sometimes travelling from my head to spine or down the shoulders. The skin feels somewhat alienish too. Overly tender and as if goosebumps appeared inside out. Feverish yet shivering.

It is admittedly a tad confusing; I believe that the word ‘Peri’ was likely chosen in its scientific tense I.e ‘Around’ thus denoting the symptoms to occur during and indeed, after the orgasm occurs. (They covered all bases in other words)

Interestingly enough and on a related note there is also a condition termed, Post-Orgasmic Illness Syndrome which frequently denotes the sudden onset of flu like symptoms that occur in some unfortunate individuals after experiencing orgasm

Alongside the queasiness I'll get a very spaced out floaty feeling and I can't say I like it very much. Fortunately it doesn't happen often.

This is what I tried to describe when I said I feel as if I could fly. Very weird sensation.

Christ that does not sound good. I’ve heard of people who get bad headaches after

It does feel like mine travels but it’s most prominent at the fingertips when it starts at the shoulders and travels downwards or on my lips but starts all over my face before being pronounced mostly in the lips. The goosebumps inside out is a great explanation.

Somewhere In The Ether…

There is in fact also a variation of the said phenomenon that specifically affects women: Postcoital Dysphoria, which manifests as feelings of extreme sadness after orgasm.

In fact (after a quick google search) I have discerned from a 2015 scientific study that a whopping 46% of the ladies questioned, reported said experience in their lifetime.

…..or is this in fact the female equivalent of the often crudely termed, male ‘post nut clarity’?
