Somehow I've never read The Secret History despite hearing about it for years. That's one for 2024. Yellowface is getting a lot of buzz so I might well give it a go - let me know what you think of it.

Two books, lucky me.

One is Carmen Abroad - Bizet's Opera on the Global Stage. An edited volume full of highbrow stuff.

The other book is called David Bowie, Enid Blyton and the Sun Machine by Nicholas royle. Yet to start that.

Ah nice! I'm leaning towards starting with that but a part of me really wants to enjoy the dark academia vibes of Secret History; it's rather fitting for this weather!

Rupi Kaur...Alistair Grey...Donna Tartt...Zadie Smith...all in my favourites too.

My book presents this year were a compilation of photographic work in the north of England in the 60's and 70's (because I'm old enough to remember it) and an anthology of poetry by Liz Lochhead
