Paper Town Central, Essex.

I've heard the mens body type for 2024 is The Going To Seed.

So I'm afraid all that hard work from you younger men that spend hours in the gym has gone to waste.

Gone is the 6 pack.

Gone is the Dad Bod.

In is the Raunch With The Paunch.

Start drinking those beers fellas.....

Like squats again as it had dropped off the end of this year and everything felt so bloody heavy!

I think it may be linked but I have some glute aches that I am going to go see a man about in the new year and get some pre hab exercises to do.

Burpees are my fitness goal every year lol

I'd also like to do just one box jump on more than 2 plates lol

Nutrition is my main goal next year now.

Hi all

My goal is to carry on with no booze.

I’m currently at 6 months alcohol free. It’s been challenging, especially over Christmas.

I’d like to lose another stone before April and then carry on with the weight loss and strength training.

I’m not expecting to gain loads of definition but it would be nice.

Mrs has said she’s gonna join me in toning up so hopefully some fun days and night ahead

I started at the gym on 5th December and have since been 12 times - it's habit forming, I'm trying hard to get fitter, lose some weight and generally be more healthier after being told that if my blood sugars continued on the same path I would be placed on insulin.

It's been challenging, but I am enjoying it and now have my gym routines going to almost an hour. I've also got myself a couple of dumbbells and an exercise bike and I've been given an ab cruncher from a colleague at work that I have added into it. Long term I'd like to lose about 10-15 kg from my 100kg frame I've managed to nudge 2kg off so far!

Depending on how rehab of various minor niggles go I may have another run at competing again in bench only for a UK title. I'd need 177.5kg under 90kg which I reckon I can do. Hit 180kg at 93kg last year before it went down hill.

2023 has been a tough one in fitness terms.

Cancer scare meant I lost all motivation, ended up losing weight and a lot of muscle.

2024 goals (good to write them down so I’ll make myself accountable to them)

- gain 2 stone

- keep some abdominal definition

- do at least 2 leg days. I did 1 in 2023.

Tenerife in mid-March is giving me some extra motivation.

I lost just under 4 stone this year, so the plan for next year is to crack on with that and lose some more.

In terms of fitness; I want to tackle it on all fronts! I especially want to work on flexibility as I think that will have a lot of benefits long term.

I suppose I really want to do the things I enjoy; swimming, cycling, lifting heavy things
