Although the Haganah was disbanded in 1948, the name lived on. I was a member of the Haganah Youth in the UK many, many years ago. I went out in 1973 but it was all over before I was called up.

"I tried to join the army at 16 but they had a gay ban back then so I fell into corporate office work instead"

I was going through basic training when the ban was lifted. The staff were obviously unprepared for the change.. we just got asked if anyone wanted pyjamas.

"Royal Engineers 77-90. Once a sapper always a sapper and proud"

I once caught a Walt out who claimed to be a Royal Engineer. Siad, "I didn't know you were a sapper".

"what's a sapper?" came the reply, followed by claims of all he did was drive lorries, and the RE were never based in Tidworth.

A bit odd, as my ex father in law was RSM there for a while.
