Yeah, let's not as millennials do the Boomer/X shit of declaring that anything that comes after us is invalid because they're all just babies. (Or not seriously at least. I'm sticking to my joke with the OP)

Beyonce is clearly X/Millennial derived. Like, the 1990s. 12 year olds were born in 2011 and probably think the 1990s are the stone age.

At my volunteering there were a couple of ladies, both of whom have now passed, who called the Queen "that young girl" (they were older than her tbf) and every time some cultural reference came up they hadn't heard of, they'd nod sagely and say "it's before my time".

I prefer destiny's child too, especially the early stuff. "Say my name" is a fav. I used to have

an ex BF that would sing this to me when I was with my new boyfriend to try and wind him up. Was annoying at the time but I find it funny now.

My favourite off that album was probably 'so good' & I liked 'get on the bus' because of that classic, old school Timbaland beat.

I liked 'nasty girl' off Survivor, even though I have basically turned into the girl in the music video in later life

That song gets a lot of controversy now, as many people see the lyrics as shaming women for expressing their sexual empowerment.

I guess lyrically it is very much of its time & sounds dated now, but fuck it I still like the song

can she though ?personally I think she should leave the country music alone & just stick to pop music & the slow ballads it’s just my opinion
