Obviously a lot of us like using hotel rooms for some of our antics ….. I’ve started trying to leave my rooms in a much better state.

I’ve actually stripped the beds. I keep thinking it’s a shame to be touching all our juices. Am I being weird?

No, I mean I do that anyway.

No, I've done the same, not that I've had much fun in a hotel room, but I always strip the bed when I've stayed away

Don't forget to leave a tip, because if you tip at reception house keeping dose get any of it, it goes to the department that you have tipped.

I tend to strio the bed as well regardless of whether anything has happened in there. It's a small gesture but hopefully one that helps

If we're staying more than one night we make the bed after we've aired it and we'll pull the covers neatly back on the morning we leave but we don't strip the bed. Housekeeping staff will have to touch the bed linen at some point.

I used to be a hotel Housekeeper and we do appreciate the stripping of the beds, nothing worse than pulling the duvet back to reveal stained sheets with bodily fluids, seen some sights in my time and dont get me started on smells

Do you use rubber gloves? I think I would

I leave a gorgeous room to clean. They have a tough job without making it harder

So do we. Cups rinsed, bathroom tidy, bed covers pulled back. I really dislike it when people say things like "ooo I squirted all over the place, I pity the housekeeper".

We have done, remember one time the sheets and mattress protector were put straight in the bin and the room was put off for the night the smell was that bad, the couple were waiting in reception for their room to be checked as they had paid cash and were waiting to get their deposit back, i had to check the room and as soon as id opened the door the smell hit me, never got their deposit back cant believe they actually waited for it, the sight was disgusting

Our daughter did hotel housekeeping for a while. She said bathrooms were the worst.

is it better to remove the bed sheets and leave them in a pile on the bed

We usually make the bed but pull the covers back

I always pull the bed covers back, put all the towels in a pile, rinse the mugs out and open a window. Used to hear some right stories from housekeeping when I worked in hospitality.

Personally I think you should do what you feel is necessary. I'd never leave a room dirty or messy but I'd never strip the bed in the same way I wouldn't take my dinner order into the kitchen.

We used to think they had somthing to hide when the guests stripped the bed lol its our job at the end of the day just leaving a clean tidy room is nice enough

I leave a tip, normally at the side of the plate on my room service tray and leave it outside the door..came out of the shower once to find it had been slid back under my door..weird as hell!!

This thread is a real eye opener... not just for swinging but hotel room use in general.

I take the view, as a guest, that a certain level of mess is expected - you're paying for it.

But I'm also inclined to leave big tips in envelopes because paying big hotel bills is one thing - but taking unfair advantage on underpaid and overworked staff is quite another.

It's amazing what a tenner or more (depending on budget and length of stay) can do to help.

And yes, my family worked in hotels. We were practically raised on tips alone.

They might have thought you'd left the money on the tray accidentally. We usually leave a tip at reception

Why after Valentine's? I think hotels expect people to have sex in their beds.

Anyone who leaves used condoms in an hotel room needs banning for life though, that's just gross.
