The one with Adrian Brody in was better than the sequels though!

Original gets credit for it being focused on being what it was.

Never really liked Predator 2.

I quite liked Aliens VS Predator (the first, the sequels were terrible).

Predators I really enjoyed a lot. I liked the concept of it all.

Prey... Is good, great in fact. While I switched off my senses and just enjoyed at the time. Thinking after, I have issues.

The order for me:

1.Predator (the original)

2.Predator 2

3.Predators

4.Prey

5. Alien vs Predator 1&2 (both were shite but not nearly as bad as….

6. The Predator: A truly shocking and unbelievably awful entry in the franchise, presumably penned by a twelve year old (the anti predator suit at the end??!!!)

Also essential viewing for Predator fans, the short film, Batman:Dead End which features the dark knight squaring off against the predator (it’s as awesome as it sounds!)

Predator , prey, predator 2, predators , the predator

That's the order of how good...I'll prob draw heat on predator2 buy I rather enjoy it, some cool stuff in it. Predators even, has sone decent bits, the music is a big bit and the few nods in it.

The predator is just chucking in throwback references to make up for how poor it is

As many have said the first one, I went into it thinking it was a war film, very pleased with how it turned out.

Then 2 for me as I saw more of how the predator goes about his work and the weapons he uses.

Then prey I always wanted to see a predator film set in the past as we know his been coming here for centuries

Last but not least predators.

As a wish I would like to see the story of how that 17th century pistol the predator gave to Danny glover came to be.

First one for me. Haven't seen the most recent two.

I'm still angry that the Aliens vs. Predator films were so terrible. There's a whole series of good stories from Dark Horse comics dating all the way back to the eighties, but with typical Hollywood hubris they totally ignored those and made their own entirely dogshit thing instead. Ugh.

PREDATOR - Classic

PREDATOR 2 - Bloodier, more gruesome. And unlike Ah-nuld’s “superman”, Danny Glover’s “Everyman”, makes you think he might actually lose.

PREDATORS - Cool concept...Aslong as you don’t think about it.

PREY - Surprisingly good & character driven.

UNPOPULAR OPINION - I actually liked Alien vs Predator

Pretty much every single Predator versus [XYZ] concept you can think of has already been done in the Dark Horse comics over the decades.

Aliens, Colonial Marines, samurai, the Mafia, dinosaurs, pirates, vikings, Jack the Ripper, Nazis, Batman, the Terminator, Judge Dredd...

We've seen Predators in the snow, in the First World War, in Africa, in the bayou, at sea, in Victorian London, in the American Civil War...

The stories already exist. They could easily be adapted into films. Hollywood just needs to stop thinking it can always do better when it demonstrably can't.

Just the first really.

They've never come close to recreating that first film.

Second was OK, I'd be happy if the rest didn't exist.

Some of the novels and comics are fantastic though! Concrete jungle follows the story of Dutches brother and would have made a way better sequel (predator 2) than what we got.

Tha latest film fucks with the lore a bit in terms of adolinis pistol and such, it was a bit 'meh'for fans I think.

There's an important lesson from the first film that everyone seems to miss: It works as well as it does because it spends so long pretending *not to be* a Predator film. It masquerades as a bog-standard eighties Arnie action movie for ages before introducing the titular creature.

I reckon they should try taking this approach to its natural conclusion: Don't reveal in the marketing that it's a Predator movie. You're just sitting there, happily engrossed in... I don't know, a western, a police procedural, a Jane Austen costume drama, and then, surprise! There's a Predator. It would certainly liven up an episode of Keeping Up Appearances.

I waited for the predator release because Shane Black who played Hawkins in the original wrote the predator, lethal weapon and many other action films of the 80's and 90's.

So what should of been great just wasn't and no idea why because his is a successful screen writer.

Movies?? Plural? There is only one movie (why isn't it movy?)

Like Terminator/Robocop/Jurassic Park/Jaws/Ghostbusters and countless horror franchises, they should have stopped after one.

It's just a lot easier to market something that has a great gimmick that's already successful ie: a monster/robot/dinosaurs.

"There can be only one!"

Prey is very good and I like the aesthetic styling of the Yautja.

If you know the lore, the Yautja have been visiting many worlds over the course of their history, so this does give a lot of potential to different epochs of Earth's history being possible scenes for future movies.

.

I'd actually like to see a complete reversal where the whole concept is turned on its head. To do this, you'd feature heavily a Yautja growing up on their homeworld. Understand their concept of Honour and The Hunt. Realise that they are not evil per se. They are just hunters who seek worthy challenges. Those who fail a hunter will typically end their own lives. So the stakes are high. Young Yautja comes to Earth for their first hunt. Except it's 2250 and human tech has surpassed the Yautja's. Things go terribly wrong, and the Yautja

is on the run. Again, if you know the lore, a killed Yautja's craft will automatically return to their homeworld.

That is the key to the film. Because certain humans very much want to get their hands on that ship (perhaps to weaponise it with a virus) and wipe out the Yautja. So the Hunter becomes The Hunted, and yet in this context we ask the audience to root for the Yautja. We use a mirror to hold it up against ourselves. That's where the true horror lies, I feel, because we always make the Bogeyman the Yautja, and we're the heroes. I think a change is long overdue.

"Prey is very good and I like the aesthetic styling of the Yautja.

I think a change is long overdue."

Sounds like a great idea, you're not a screenplay writer by any chance.

I do not know much about the lore, but it is important for fans who follow.

I went to see predator on first release, was disappointed as it looked like another special forces movie, then the twist comes and turns it into a si-fi survival movie great stuff.

the second was good I enjoyed the urban setting and seeing the toys the predator uses, so I thought there would be a series of movies featuring the biggest stars of the day but alas it was not to be.

I also enjoyed predators and prey for going back to the themes of the predator coming here throughout our history and the scene with the musket gun which I think was at the end of p2.

For me the original is still the best.

Prey is excellent

Predator 2 is a guilty pleasure

Predators is OK

The Predator is terrible.

As for the non canon films

AvP enjoyable stupid hokum

AvP:R utterly terrible.

I agree. This is an interesting concept. It could probably be extended out into a tv show.

For lots of reasons I really like predator 2 with danny glover. The predator & his character almost have a "chemistry" to me, plus I like the hints at the background of the creature.

And the worst one I think is alien vs predator requiem.

(The 1st alien vs predator I thought was entertaining)

It seems the whole A v P concept has been going a long time before the films came out ( lots of comics etc)

Has anyone played the AvP scrolling beat em up arcade game by capcom?

I'm not a gamer really, but it's a blast
