"Just heading to shops. Send me your prayers " Had a last minute present to get - was at the shop bang on opening this morning. In and out in 10 minutes. It was getting busy as I left. Good luck.

"What’s Christmas? Just means work goes mental and the shops are busy with people buying loads of food they don’t need. Just been to the shops and Tesco was mobbed no trolleys had to ask someone walking to their car if I could have theirs. Costco forget it couldn’t get a space on the car park and the queue outside just ridiculous. Where do all these people come from? When do they shop the rest of the year? Tesco is my equivalent local shop so I go there 2 or 3 times a week. I never do the traditional weekly shop as it is so close. It is always busier of a weekend but Christmas it goes mental. Does this mean that Lidl Aldi Asda and the rest are empty with Tesco being so full? Do they go at this time of year as a treat? The queue at Costco was bigger than the Covid queues, do people pay their annual membership to go once a year? What will these places be like tomorrow when folks are not at work (well the majority as I will be with just Christmas Day off). Then they’ll all be back Boxing Day to get sale stuff to pile on the mountain of stuff they already have. I just don’t get it, the shops shut for one maybe two days. I feel for anyone like me involved in retail supply chain or retail in general. " Aldi and Lidl are just as busy. The winter holiday is traditionally a time of feasting with friends and family. That requires buying a lot of items we don't usually have and more of it. I wonder how retailers would like it if the big Christmas spend didn't happen...

"I'm working all over Christmas, so no Christmas shopping for me. Gifts via Amazon. Beer from Brewdog. Sorted." Brewdog. Great choice. I'm old school and stuck with their IPA but some of the others are lovely.

"I will be 56 in January not as active as I once was so I guess at a crossroads for me.Happy Christmas and New Year to everyone." Looking from the perspective of being closer to 60 than 55, I would say I am having a better second half decade. Much more sensuality than physicality, but just as intense and enjoyable. The key thing is a positive mindset.

Originally conceived to survive the rigours of being exported to India for the troops, hence India Pale Ale, probably ideal for gifts by post.
