Somewhere In The Ether…

Doesn’t it result in the death of a fairy?

No….wait….that’s if one doesn’t believe in them isn’t?

Ahhh *discombobulated*

"… is that the end of the friendship / relationship / situationship for you?

What if you never asked them to make any promises? And they insisted. Then they broke it.

In general do you expect people to do what they say they’re going to do? "

I think if someone breaks the faith, that can be a really really hard one to overcome. Whether they insist or you insist.

How can you trust them again, as they do it once, they'll do it again....you promote the mistress you create a vacancy and all that jazz .....

I guess as per usual it all depends on the circumstances...... But sometimes it's just best to walk away.

I hope people will do as they say, but I don't expect it. When they follow through I'm pleasantly surprised, until I get to know someone to see if this is their normal way, I just assume it won't happen.

If it’s a pinky promise that person is dead to me.

I don't take anything anyone says that seriously. A promise doesn't mean a thing.

It's just words.

It changes things for me if it happens.

I don't believe anything they say afterwards as I just think " you're lying" x

Yes, I do believe people when they promise to do something, and I do get upset when they betray that promise. Better to have a conditional promise that you both accept, but even that can be difficult. Generally, if people break promises or don't deliver without good reason, I wouldn't trust them again.

No - it’s okay.

I got cold feet.

But it’s probably not a bad idea to actually have the discussion.

Okay so, the way I feel about it is, don’t make promises. Promises make me uncomfortable.

And yeah - I’m done with the person who made the promise(s).

It got to late anyway to remove it, the deleting time ended....:/

But it wasn't a bad subject, it was just a few questions...

The second someone breaks something I make a mental note, it'll notice. If they repeat I lose faith. That inevitably leads to the end slowly at worst.

It depends on the promise though and why it was broken. If someone breaks a promise because I have treated them badly or shown them I'm not worth keeping it for then that's the consequences I should face and own it.

If someone promises something and breaks it out of sheer laziness, complacency I count it that they didn't owe me it anyway. It was their choice to do it if they wanted to.

If they break a promise out being malicious, selfish or abusive etc and it harms me then they can go fuck themselves and I won't even explain why I'm walking away.
