Have you ever built up great chemistry online with someone, only to meet with them face to face and its just not the same??

Yep, I don't bother trying to build chemistry online anymore for this reason, more times than not in person it's not there.

There's also been the opposite especially here, not thought much to them/profile/messaging and in person they've been amazing.

No. I e always enjoyed everyone I’ve met. I’m talking about 1 to 1. Larger socials you can gather quite quickly that they might not like you as much as you like them. But that’s how things are.

Anyone I’ve asked to meet, it’s because I know they are my type of person, and it’s always been a blast.

Yes. A few years ago, after lots of messages and lovely conversations we met.

It turned out to be a the worst meet ever.

Yes and I wondered if it was because the slower pace of conversation online was actually masking the fact we really didn’t have much to talk about

Personally, no.

However based on a small number people I have met, they must have faked clicking with me very well because they stopped chatting not long after.

Yeah, I had it with a guy quite recently. We chatted for ages online. No sex stuff or anything like that. Just everyday conversation. I met him for a coffee and he got real weird on me, I tried to give benefit of the doubt but he made me feel quite uncomfortable to the point I had to get outta there.

"Have you ever built up great chemistry online with someone, only to meet with them face to face and its just not the same??"

I wouldn’t call it chemistry if it’s online. I can’t smell their pheromones. So I’m going with no.

I've found the vibe to be different and in a way that meant no actual sexual chemistry even if things looked good on paper.

Yes..

That's why it's best to meet for a social.

I think you can tell far more about a person face to face in a few minutes, compared to messages and pictures.

Body language, facial expressions, sound of their voice, and a general aura..

Some people may not be conventionally good looking on paper but in person have a energy and vibe which is really attractive..

No because the whole online “bants”/chemistry thing is just a mirage and I want to meet in real life to find out what you are actually like as soon as possible.

Yes it has happened and it is disappointing and it’s why I don’t get my hopes up too much before I meet in person.

Unfortunately because of my lack in time it does mean I have to often spend a lot of time building something online first. It’s not ideal but it does mean I get to work out if someone is the kind of person I want to get to know better.

Sometimes it works in person and sometimes it doesn’t but I think it’s worth taking a chance and seeing if there is real potential.

Kx

I think the only danger is when you chat online for so long without meeting, it can lead to a bit of an anti climax when you do finally get together.

Kind of happened the other way around, they were an absolute nightmare online and after a very reluctant meeting they were an amazingly funny, kind and sexy person.

People are generally nicer in real life than they present online. Some people just don’t have a way with words.

I think for the most part it depends on the context and intent of the friendship/relationship/connection.

I've meet plenty of people from online (not sex!) after weeks, months, and years - the spark/vibe has been just as strong if not stronger for it. With fab I think it can be different because most of the time it's about the sex at its core (not always).

With someone I've talked online with for ages - I've never been disappointed. I always do voice note swaps/phone calls as well. I find it easier to be more assertive online, so it works for me to talk online for a while.

I don't tend to judge on online interactions anymore. People either fake who they are or struggle to show their true personality through text. The quicker you meet people face to face, the better.

I stopped having many opinions a long time ago (yrs ago) I’ve thought he done people to be dicks, and then been told how nice they are in DMs etc, or vice versa.

I agree, you really only get to see a person’s personality face to face. I don’t think it needs to be quick though, nobody changes depending how long you leave it. They’re always cool, or they’re hiding it well.
