Main act - late arrivals

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

The Justin Bieber story has been playing all day.

I was a little shocked to hear about the delay as plays happen on time.

I was even more shocked to hear that four and nine year olds were out so late on a school night.

Two questions:

1. What's the longest you have waited for the main act to start?

2. At what age would you allow children to attend an evening concert?

Suzy Quattro once kept my band waiting for 5hrs, we had to soundcheck in front of the audience!....Highly unprofessional, she was crap though and we trashed her dressing room...

1) About 3 hours or so, Phil Lynott's Grand Slamm, Wolverhampton Civic Hall, not long before he died, so 84/85ish, I imagine.

2) I think my daughter was about 8 or 9 when she went to see AC/DC with us, she might have been younger when she saw War of the Worlds

1) An hour big accident outside the Excel arena when Alicia Keys was there.

2) I took my son to see Tinnie Tempah when he was 10 he loved it.

I have seen the Pogues many times, and have never known them to be on stage on time , down to Shane Macgowan i would think.

Never had to wait!

And 18 was my first concert. I don't have kids but I'm quite old fashioned and not sure I'd let them go on a school night

i went to see guns and roses once

they were 2 hours late getting on stage and mimed when they were!!!

absolute shite!!!

Guns and Roses - 3 hour wait and it was worth every minute but then Idid not have toddlers and young people with me.

1/2 h last Friday for the Aussie Pink Floyd which was due to a technical problem with the sounds system. The concert was totally awesome...

For kids? Depends - I took one of mine to see Santana and it meant coming back very late on a school night, took another to see Deep Purple (also on a school night), took the third to see a show in London again late coming home, took the last to see Saturday Night Fever in Brum and that was late coming home. My kids knew it would be a rare exception to be so late but I did allow it.

I don't have a problem with weekend concerts but when I heard the mother of a four year old say that their child was tired waiting as it was past their bedtime I found myself pulling a face.

We took our 10 and 12 year old to see "down" "orange goblin" and "war beast"

VERY HEAVY!!! Thrash, stoner and doom metal bands, awesome, did we all stand at the back "no" right at the front, against the barrier, guitar picks and drumsticks, given to my boys as souvenirs by two legend musicians

Can't wait to take them to more gigs!!

P.s we've never had to wait for any band, and we've seen loads, maybe it's coz there not up their own arses, like certain musicians, pop stars can be

Proper genuine talented musicians through and through!!!
