WUU2 or What plans for today?

I do wonder why all messages start with that.

For example, right now I am dealing with a veritable Mt Kilimanjaro of clothes to fold and put away. My plans are to shower at some point when I have time and possibly try out the Black Seal rum I bought last week.

Last Saturday I decided to answer one of the dozens of “any plans today” messages by saying: “I am in a Jeep Wrangler as my Uber on my way to Grapevine, Christmas capital of Texas. I am looking forward to a Texan BBQ and mulled cider, yeehaw!” And I got no reply. He must have thought I was taking the piss. I wasn’t. I really was doing that

I could always answer that I am mapping out the shortest route between the fridge and my sofa…

What do you reply (if ever) to your wuu2 or “any plans” messages? Right now I just delete unless I like the profile photo. Like, REALLY like.

I'd always reply to 'Any plans for the evening or weekend' type of messages but

wuu2? I'd just cringe!

I think they're hoping for an answer along the lines of "I've just shaved my legs and I'm choosing between PVC and lace, hoping a gorgeous hunk of man meat comes along that will break my bed and upset my neighbours"

You could also use me as a translator. And all I should ask in return is Spanish lessons. 1-1.

I'll use it as a way to engage in conversation... I'm playing squash after work and then to the pub fort a quick drink after. Do you play? What's your fav tipple when out? Or i'd say i have absolutely no plans - lets meet

Calderdale innit

I tend to delete, as with past experience it's followed with a messages asking if I want to meet today.

I haven't sent a first message in absolutely ages but I think I'll chance it with a "WUU2" and see how well I fare.

I shall report back forthwith...!

... and now she's looked at my profile. Whether she replies is anyone's guess.

I thought it was against site rules to share DMs?

Is it not anymore? Because I’d love to join in.

These are the kinds of conversations I have with my kids or friends I’ve known for a long time, not someone new I’m trying to discover

Wherever

I used to reply to about what I was really doing, and trust me, it’s never been glamorous.

Now I just ignore, given every single person I replied can now bypass my filters, unless I individually block them so I don’t bother anymore.

But what gets to me even more than wuu2 is “UP TO MUCH FUN?”

Seriously.

Paper Town Central, Essex.

I hate text speak.

Nearly as much as I hate TLA's.

That's 3 letter acronyms.

So I usually reply with a couple like....

WTF

WRU?

GAL!
