Twice recently I've had messages saying they're like my profile and would like to meet. And then when I go to respond I've been blocked, the first time with no message sent on my end. The second after I responded to say yes. I'm free at these times... Is this a regular thing?

Unfortunately it is very common.

Especially if you don't answer in a very short space of time.

The one that just happened I replied 2 mins after they sent. It's bizarre .ik not offended or upset just puzzled by the methodology of it.

It could be fake profiles then suspended by mods. It will read as though blocked.

If I see my message has been read but don't get a reply I block them. Saves messaging them again and wasting my time. It's not personal.

I appreciate that strategy. How long do you wait?

A strategy that could work indeed. I hope though that not too many females adopt that. Been many a time that I have read a message, started a reply but then got distracted from a job at work so could be a couple hours or longer that I would then get chance to reply.

Fair play though, everyone has to do what works for them

Very often I’ll read through messages but may not have time to reply there and then so I’ll go back to them later.

Do you not think that might be a bit hasty?

Each to their own of course

Yes

No reply equals no interest. Blocked is the same. Most people are not mutually compatible with most other people and will never have sex together

Move on

But as I said. They messaged me first.

I think occasionally it’s that the account is suspended. Not often though…

I’ve had this, so annoying, what’s the point messaging if you’re not interested enough to communicate with me

Some just like to play games....that's possibly what happened OP....showed an interest in you & then blocked you immediately just to confuse you....

Or Maybe you seemed to eager when you gave the times you can meet....Some people like to strike up a strong connection & rapport before they ever mention meeting ....

But either party may realise at any point that they are not compatible, for interests, attraction, availability, etc. Plus they may have changed their minds, got someone else, have family, partner/ work etc issues.

Most chats will not end in a meet and fewer in sex. Most people are not mutually compatible

yes agree with someone who said about the "time thing" if you don't respond there and then, they are in the mood no second chances

It's similar to people who wink and immediately block.

Almost as if they are giving you a nudge to say they are blocking you.

Sometimes it’s a trigger in the message that will signal incompatibility, a detail that isn’t mentioned in a profile, something in your pictures, or maybe they’ve recognised you from outside fab and don’t want to add a layer of complication to a professional relationship.

Some people seem to demand immediate replies. I had this recently when I was chatting with a fairly local lady, everything was perfectly fine. We had discussed meeting for coffee. Has swapped numbers and were chatting on WhatsApp. We chatted for a bit and even talked some mild sexting. I said my good byes to later as I was busy. She wrote to me a few hours later. I didn’t read her text. 45 minutes after her first message came a second one “I don’t think we are a match”.

However this time I was so annoyed it was me blocking her. Ffs get a life.

Personally i try my best not to block anyone, i can't speak for others but about the only reason i actually will block is if they get abusive.. other than that I don't.

Although i have been blocked in a very similar way to what you describe, but at the end of the day it doesn't really matter, just move on and be nice.
