Out of interest.

If you gifted someone a lottery ticket and they won a jackpot would you expect them to give you a bit?

The fact I won't gift them tells you all.

I can honestly say I would gift it with an open heart and joy for their win. No expectations

Nope they won it but I'm sure they'd give you the cost of ticket back so you're not out of pocket

Nope. It was gifted to them. They get to do what they want with it

I know this is awful but unless I really love them I never gift someone a lottery card or scratchy. And if I really love them, then they obviously love me too and I'm sure they'd give me a share.

Wouldn't necessarily expect it but would hope so.

I think I would if someone gifted me a winning lottery ticket.

Sort of depends on the size of the winnings though, either way.

So if someone won let's say 20 million and they said thank you here's a million you'd say no?

Yes. The same rules apply if you give someone money for a bet.

I’m not friends with 13 year old boys so that wouldn’t happen.

I wouldn’t say no, but I certainly wouldn’t expect anything

The reality is that it’s actually really difficult to give away large sums of money to individuals

Pretty much exactly this ^

Usually stick a scratch card or lotto ticket in a birthday card.

Ah Joop, you know you're in for a good time when a man turns up wearing that.

If it was a close family member they would give me money anyway.

I can't see me gifting one to anyone else.

When my friend got married they gave all guests a lottery ticket.

If I actually did buy someone else a ticket, I would say in advance, I hope if you win you will sort me out!

But I do not think I will ever buy someone a ticket as a present as I would rather give a proper present.
