We are both in to rock/metal, Mr likes the heavier stuff, have done a lot of festivals in the past (reading in the 90’s, obscene extreme, roadburn)but the idea fills us with abject horror mostly these days (unless we can stay in a hotel), get to gigs regular though.

But depending on mood I could want Vengaboys or Combichrist or Limp Bizkit. It's a bit chaotic in my music library, but there's plenty of rock/metal vibes in there.

Portsmouth or Southampton, ferry then five minutes and your there.

Mind you over the last 10 years it got a lot more expensive. 10 years ago the whole thing cost what I am paying for the ferry out there next year, what used to cost a couple of hundred all in is now nearer a grand for the weekend, and I’ve not booked anything really extra. You can pay a fortune d pending on you budget.

Been in to the old punk scene since the 1970's n still out there seeing the punk bands now.

As for the festivals I use to do the Rebellion (punk festival) but haven't done for last few years, but still do Glastonbury every year, but only to work it for the money not the free entry like some, but still see the odd decent band there.

Recently saw The Almighty on their "Three n' easy" original line up shows at The Forum in Kentish Town.

Awesome gig and great to see loads of 40/50 year old, including the band, thrashing around like teenagers again!!

Mrs F has a much more eclectic taste, but leans towards 90s r&b......oh well, nevermind..

Veteran of the Bloodstock festival since 2008.

Only one I've missed since then is 2020.....can't think why though

Also been an attendee at Hellfest twice and even suffered the muddy fields of Donnington at Download 2016.

Wacken is the Main Goal but everything else will be a bonus

I saw 52 bands last year, over 30 the year before. And that's without a single festival. I'm lucky to be within striking distance of London. I don't have a specific genre - having seen bands as diverse as Muse to Gojira with some off the wall bands such as The Hu (Mongolian throat singing metal), Alien Weaponry (Maori Metal), Bloodywood (Hindi/English nu metal with bangra drums) and Elvana (Elvis fronted Nirvana). I also took my daughter to Bulgaria to see Iron Maiden (supported by Lords of the Lost)

Still have a few on my bucket list, and this year's list of gigs is growing.

Having said that, they're alright for a gimmick band.

Some more deserving and underrated Indian metal bands are Heathen Beast and "Sitar Metal" (yes that's the name). The former if you like blast beats, the latter if you like djent or djent adjacent music.
