Or be a dog walker that someone pays you to do when you have time too.

Nice idea but seems like a lot of faffing about.

Just have to wait until one of us retires I guess

Carlisle usually

I love my mutt. She is the most wonderful fluffy moron.

But she does cost a fortune in daycare, and it means I have to plan things in advance more than the old spontaneity to make sure she's not abandoned too long.

I have two dogs and work.

I walk them for 1.5 hours before work and again after work, my dogs are very lazy ha and are pretty happy after a walk. They have each other for company etc.

Have you thought about a senior dog that just wants some home comforts and the occasional walk?. I have a 13 yr old and he has been great.

I go to some rehoming kennels to help.

Love dogs but not enough time for having one at home

Hope that helps

I had 7 dogs and worked. They were walked before and after work and taken to agility, flyball etc. This was back when doggy daycare didn't exist but worked OK for us

A dog would make me very happy

But I'm in no position to care for one

See this what I need, a dog, not a man.

That's a rat on a lead not a dog.

Oi! Grumpy puppy is a yorkie cross. He isn't a poo though.

Rescue an older one, that's house trained and doesn't need so much exercise.

My friends dog is 11, he's quite happy at home all day and in the garden. Doesn't like going walkies, just wants food, sleep and love.

Something to look forward to in retirement?

I do think it's possible, now more so than ever due to access to doggy daycare and dog sitters who come into your home daily to feed and walk etc. But obviously, it's very expensive.

My lab is asleep on my legs a I write this, best thing we ever did getting him. We both were port time around each other because of kids etc so it works great for us. We also have four cats and a giant African land snail

I'm in the same boat. Would love a hound but the poor thing would be on its own too much. I satisfy my puppy needs by house sitting friends' pups when they go on holiday, when I can.

Very much in the same situation, it really wouldn’t be fair of me to drop a pup in the garden for 8 hours a day
