The distance on someone's profile, does that change automatically when they move around.

I know the location you can write anything so that's not really an indication

I think it can adjust sometimes takes a few refreshes

I work 40 miles from where I live so sometimes people think distance is too far etc haha

In the mobile app yes location and distance will reflect where a person (more accurately the device they are logged in on) is gps located

Does it depend if they have 'who's near switched on? So that it is using their actual location?

Glasgow / London

Distance is based on the postcode they put in as their location. The bit below it that says how far right now is based roughly on their actual location according to their mobile phone network - it only works for people logged in on a phone.

I think.

It registers as the postcode you enter on joining, but with mobile users it registers your phone moving around I think. It isn't always accurate. Sometimes it shows people as really close to me, which means they are in a field in the dark. A couple of times I have messaged them, and they were a few miles away.

"Shall we drive up to you and find out?? "

That's an offer not to be missed. X

Mobile app location is the most accurate, if it is turned on cx

Yes, that has a bearing too and also if they have enabled permission for Location Services (GPS on Android).

The distance shown next to the little house is whatever postcode you put in.

You can put anywhere on the map.

But

The distance shown next to mobile phone is your actual distance
