I refused to serve him as a teenager when working in a concert hall restaurant bc it was too close to closing. I got a real telling off for it.

I had no idea who he was, but didn't much like him for some time after that!

Titz Towers, North Notts

His acting in Henry V where he delivers the ultimatum to the French king is superb. He may be best known for shouting, but that scene really shows how good an actor he can be. It's on Youtube under 'Armoured Ultimatum'.

There's a rumour Blessed is wearing his own suit of armour in this scene and didn't need props to find him one. I believe it.

Yes, and his mum made Paddington Bear toys under licence from Michael Bond.

Other famous Doncastrians include:

Kevin Keegan

Diana Rigg

John Parr (guitarist and singer)

Tony Christie (still looking for Amarillo )

David Bowie's dad

Graham Oliver (original guitarist in Saxon)

couple, us we him her.

He's a legend.

Read one of his autobiographies amazing he's done so much in his life.

Favourite BB moment an outake from a quiz show he was on the prize was a palm pilot he fluffed his lines a few times and in typical Brian fashion exclaimed

"What is a palm pilot anyway sounds like a wanking machine"

I like him. Fun fact, he was a villain in the first episode of The Sweeney, and put in a very toned down (from his usual) performance, which was all the better for that.

Ah, the Flash Gordon role was a good one, but the greatest performance of his life was as Gramfy Rabbit in Peppa Pig. Who else could have pulled off the foghorn scene?

Alicante, Spain. (Sometimes in Wales)

I get the impression he'd be fun for a few pints, but just for a while. He sometimes seems as if he is playing the part of Brian Blessed and gets shouty for effect.

An incredible man that has had an incredible life, but just a little loud at times.

I've met him and he's not always loud.

One of my heroes
