Shaving years off the age

There are women on here borrowing back 5-10 years on their age...and showing pictures that were taken years ago.

If you're chatting to someone that's doing that but still interested in having sex with them, what would you do? Mention that you know, wait to see if they say, or keep shtum.

I think the same probably applies to men. So ladies, what would you do too?

To clarify, if the pictures taken years ago are dated as years ago, that's totally fine. I'm thinking of the pictures loaded today that were taken five years ago.

I came across a mate of mine on here (not literally) who’d taken 10 years off his age! I called him out on it and he genuinely thought he’d get away with it

Also used to get many guys who were at least 15 years older than their stated age, most of whom admitted it when asked

I was in a chatgroup in 2018 with a guy claiming to be 55 in his profile but he admitted to being 58 in the group.

He leaves and returns regularly and has a different age on every profile.

A recent couples profile he set up had his age at 52 and on his most recent single profile he was 50.

We had a social with a woman who was at least 10 years older than her age & no I wouldn't have sex with her.

It's a pointless lie, if someone can't be honest then I want nothing to do with them never mind a huge waste of precious time.

I don't have much spare time as it is for it to be spent on a social with someone clearly lying just pisses me off.

.

I know (of) a fair few who do this. I don't understand why. Well, I do, they want to appear younger. Which is fair enough, their choice and all that.

Have I ever believed it? No. If their face doesn't give it away, their hands and neck do.

Don't do what I did though if you do meet one Op. When guessing their real age, don't go older than they actually are.

Old pictures are bad enough

Try also dealing with filters, edits, photoshop and flattering angles and cloths designed to enhance. All very common with online stuff

Shaving ten years is pointless - jowls and crows feet don't lie.

A convo I once had:

Guy: thank god you look like your pics.

Me: but how old are you really?

Guy adds five years to profile age.

Me: add another five would be closer

Turns out I was spot on

If you’re meeting it matters. If you’re just here to post pics and get attention I don’t suppose it does really. I look much better now than I did 10 years ago anyway. Only had one person who did that. He was much older. I could just about see the resemblance from his pics. I was fuming. What a waste of time. It’s just deceitful.

If it's obvious I don't get interested in the first place. I'm 67, if someone claims to be a similar age to me but quite obviously is older by ten years (which is the usual number) or claims to be younger but seems to be the same age I just Zimmer frame on by. If it got to the stage of meeting for a coffee we'd drink up and take our leave but wouldn't mention it, that would embarrass us and them.

In an ideal world I'd like to have a subtle yet cutting remark ready that they would only realise the real meaning of when laying in bed regretting their poor life decisions . In truth though I can kind of understand why they do it, vanity and hope mostly I think

Ttbh I'd just give them a wide berth if I recognised the profile and knew they were uploading 9ld pics.

There was a bloke in my updates up until last year who rejoined several times and used the same pic he'd had since about 2014.it was a face pic and he's obviously going to have changed in 8 years, we all do.

Many also get younger when they rejoin men and women.

It is deceptive and would make me question everything else they say. Another profile near me is 55 but he puts 49 due to being filtered out, I know that because he told me.

I totally get trying to get around site filters but still maintaining the lie up to and including time of meet is *bleeeeeeep*. For me I'd rather look okay for my actual age than look horrendously bad for my fictitious age.

I guess to ensure they lie in bed mulling over poor life decisions, you could message that lying about age was the reason why nothing happened. I realise honesty can be blunt que sera Sera

If they're lying about their age or looks to get around people's filters and boundaries, I wouldn't trust them with anything else. It blurs all kinds of consent lines and is pretty stupid too.

Why would you want disappointment and dishonesty to be someone's first real life impression of you when you meet? Makes no sense to me at all.

Not only women doing it.

I’ve noticed far more threads recently from men saying they accidentally put the wrong age on their profile and can’t change it.

Which means they’ve already changed it once.

On my old couple’s profile we met another couple where the male was ten years older than he’d said he was.

Kills the trust.

I prefer everyone to stick to their actual age. I met a guy who turned out to be 10 years older than his profile and recently saw a profile which was good but when I asked for a ‘today’ pic he was clearly about 15 years older. Why lie! If you are going to meet someone they will see you and know if you lied. Being older you can still be sexy if you look like your pictures you don’t need to pretend. Lying is not ok for me.

"I’ve got a Simply Red earworm now…

If you don’t know me by now?

Holding back the years

Surely, on here, it should be 'Hold him by the ears'?"

It’s in the B side of ‘If you don’t knob me by now’

"I think the question should be

‘Is there anyone on here who is actually their Fab age?’

I’m 50 but in fab years I’m 49…

Why’s that?

Well probably for the same reason you heavily filter your pics.. lol.. but thinking about it when I started this lifestyle I was a tad insecure, wanted more anonymity - years later I’m older and much more happy in my own skin.. as it is it is only one year out..

I honestly think pretty much everyone on here is a tad loose with the truth when it comes to age.. "

I think you are wrong. Most are honest with their age. It’s sad that people are not comfortable in their own skin.

My pictures aren’t heavily filtered lol… straight from the camera roll and the only difference would be tweaking brightness and contrast to make them warmer or cooler.

I’m more than happy to screenshot the iPhone “properties” to prove it.

Sorry my question hit a nerve. "

So they are filtered?

"If they're lying about their age or looks to get around people's filters and boundaries, I wouldn't trust them with anything else. It blurs all kinds of consent lines and is pretty stupid too.

Why would you want disappointment and dishonesty to be someone's first real life impression of you when you meet? Makes no sense to me at all.

Honesty is the sexiest thing of all "

I agree. If you are prepared to lie to me in a message, how will I be able to trust you in the bedroom, specifically when kink is involved? Swinging is all about consent to me.

I always share very recent pics, send a photo of me on the day when going on a date / meet before I leave. I’ve met people who look absolutely nothing like their pics and it just wastes everyone’s time.

If I fancied them I’d keep quiet, rule 1 never question a woman’s age

I know people whose ages aren't correct and can understand why they feel the need to do it, to get around filters ( that 50yrs cliff edge is a tricky one)

I try to be as honest as possible with my profile and pics as can't imagine anything worse than meeting someone and their face dropping! Admittedly it still could!

Adjusting the lighting to make the photo clearer could be considered “filtered” but not in the way some use the term these days, this would mean anyone who changed their photo to black and white is “filtered”.

I don’t have bunny ears, or a crown nor have I used an instagram or snapchat filter that doesn’t look like me, so there’s a difference.

This. If someone is prepared to lie about their age it makes me wonder what else they can lie about.

I like to do a FaceTime if the other person has an iPhone or WhatsApp video call, really breaks the ice and both can see each other fully. KIK used to be good for “live” photos, I don’t use it anymore so not sure if they still have that.

This i video call to see what they look like. Personally I couldn’t care if they change their age from real age just as long as they look sexy to me still. Video call clarification is key for me
