Do you believe what others think or say about you whether good or bad?

If you hear people talking about you behind your back or hear from others that they are taking about you how does it make you feel? Do you challenge them?

Do you need affirmation from others?

Look at me or don’t look at me?

Use negativity to attract attention?

I don’t challenge it because other people are entitled to their views on me and their views are none of my business.

Doesn’t make them right tho

And no, using negativity to attract attention is immature and sad imo

Why would I need to rely on anyone else's opinion to know how I feel about myself?

There are people that think I'm an evil whore. There are people that think I'm whiter than snow.

But I know who I am. I know the choices I make and the reasoning behind them. I know what shades of grey I consider acceptable and judge myself on my own morality, no-one else's.

It sucks to hear people think negatively of me of course. It also sucks to hear when people paint me as something better than I am. But their opinions are their opinions, and what they choose to think or express about me is up to them

They will think what they think, usually because it suits their narrative, or it plays to someone else's and they get the attention they want from them in the process.

If I try to change their perception of me then I'm trying to make them conform to my beliefs and that's manipulation isn't it? And a total disrespect towards them as a person.

I like to hope over time the truth will come out. And leave them to feel an idiot in peace.

Do I challenge them? What would be the point? If they have already formed an opinion of me without actually knowing me they've already put themselves in a box that means challenging them is a complete waste of time. They won't be impartial as they'll be jaded by their view. That's fighting a losing battle.

If they approached me for an adult conversation that's different.

If they matter and are part of my daily life I'll start that adult conversation where needed or fess up.

Nope, too old to careless what they think as 90% of the time the rumours are untrue and it does amaze you what other people believe.

The other 10% of rumours I probably started myself just for the entertainment of it going full circle like Chinese whispers and proving the point that you know who gossips! ha ha
