Just had time off work and really don't wanna go back.

Work been going downhill since my boss been on the sick for months and they got this temp guy in who is ruining the place.

Don't know if I wanna see it out till my boss comes back or just look for a new job.

Was thinking of generally looking around april for new tax year but thinking I might just start now.

(Rant over lol)

Just have to stick it out mate..and look for work elsewhere..but keep up the work to the best of your abilities in the meantime..you'll need references.

No harm in having a look what's about and brushing up your CV.

A bad manager can really kill a good team, but there's no guarantee you'll get a good one at any new place so bear that in mind.

Seems like a good time for good think about your motivations and what a new role would need to give you towards any longer term career and life goals.

Yea well my actual boss been on the sick for 4 months. It's laid back when he is there (always busy and work hard but laid back)

Got this temp guy in who used to work there and he is wanting to change everything which is stupid and then there is another guy there who is just right up the temps ass trying to get ahead making it worse lol.

Been fed up there for bout a year as its slowly been going downhill but alot quicker last few months so think the time is right

Its horrible when you don't enjoy your job or like your boss - finding a new role - or getting them promoted is usually the only way to go.

Could you ask about a secondment to a different part of the company?

It's always been my strategy that if I really didn't want to go into work consistently it's time to change. Regardless of the industry your currently in there is a recruitment crisis happening, all sectors are on the look out for good staff so OP you are in a stronger position than you might think.

Good luck, your a long time dead and work , whilst necessary, should be enjoyable mostly.

Shouldn’t need to drop pay for a secondment, as it should be more about your development and exposure to different parts of the business. Maybe see if there’s an opportunity to shadow another department head or manager in a different área while you look for new work or wait for your manager to return

Yeah sometimes it's worth taking a cut in the hope of performing well and being recognised with higher pay rise. You could always negotiate starting salary. I think men naturally have the upper hand and are more likely to achieve higher wages then females, so worth a try.

I resigned 2 weeks ago, shitty micro management. At stage in life where I do need that. Finish Tuesday, have Xmas off then look again. My mental health more important to me
