To teach us about how things grow from seed, and how to look after them.

My children grew flowers.

I grow the things in my garden we can't write on here. I'm an expert at them.

Yes I do. I distinctly remember another teacher coming in to the classroom to try the delicious egg and cress sandwiches.

I can remember growing cress then all the mums coming in to help us make egg and cress sandwiches.

I managed to make a right mess of my bread as the butter was too hard and one of the mums laughed at me and pointed at me

Is it weird that it’s probably the only time I’ve ever had an egg and cress sandwich? What does cress even add to it?

Still remember and still grow.

It's so nice on a buttered bread with a pinch of salt.

It was awesome.

I used it to make a football pitch diorama - got the idea from Grange Hill

Yeah, filling a jar with some water and putting what was like plotting paper inside and those beans between the glass and the blotting paper, never knew what it was about but remember it, I think anyway

Less messy than soil maybe? Easy to get and see the germination process.

Evie.
