My dad took me to see jaws at some point. I have a vague memory that it was initially rated x and then somehow downgraded so that a kid could watch it. I remember hiding behind the seat he was sitting in. Not sure it was the year of initial release. First films I remember going to see were “the slipper and the rose” and “when the north wind blows”, about tigers.

I won tickets on a radio show to see the UK premier at the odeon Marble Arch on the huge screen.

Other favourite was Breakdance must have seen it 50 times.

My mate's and I literally knew all the dialogue and the dance routines

My mum told me Exorcist was the first film she ever seen at the cinema. It explains why she didn't go regularly.

"Younger.

Blimey, I remember watching the Godzilla films at Saturday morning pictures (as it was called at our local cinema). 10p to get in for 2 films and 6p for a bag of chips from the kiosk next to the cinema. The girl serving the chips was blonde with red lipstick. I was only 10 at the time, and this started a lifelong obsession for blondes with red lipstick.

Same here. Do you know the story behind the bit when they are all d*unk telling stories. Martin Shaw was a very established method actor and when he saw the script he said he liked it but wanted to ad lib the story. To make it seem real he insisted on being d*unk while filming it, it took 19 takes to get it so everyone was happy. So for 19 days in a row Martin Shaw got d*unk as soon as he woke up.
