....with the way life has panned out?

When you were sitting there as a teenager and you had the world at your feet, was what you have now anything you imagined it to be?

I live in a completely different part of the country to when I was a teenager...I do a similar job to what I did but get much better paid for it. My life has changed in everything except my job role..... and I could not be happier (well unless Kylie and Megan Fox knocked at my door in stockings ) but it's nothing like I imagined.

So has it changed for you since being a teenager? In a good way or not so good?

Since I was a teenager I've travelled and worked all over the world, but now live 50 miles away from where I grew up. So my life has completely changed, yet at the same time, nothing much has changed.

Get a lot more sex now though!

look at it from one side and i could say no not at all - have been through crap -- failed marriage - then lost someone - times of being quite ill and out of work - this wasnt what i expected way back then - but life very rarely turns out as we would like - now i have two kids both at uni - own my own home - work is ok but shite wages but its a job im enjoying and i see a bloke i absolutely adore - it could be a whole lot worse - its al struggle but then i appreciate what i have more

Yeah some of my friends have not moved from the same job and the same life basically....they still do the same routine they did as a teenager. Go to work Monday to Friday, go out Friday night to the same pub and the weekend is just the same. Even with kids the routine hasn't changed.... amazes me how people can life their whole lives liket that...

As a teenager, I could never have comprehended the things I'd go on to do. So yes, satisfied - but more to do

No mine hasnt.

My marriage ended badly and knocked me down for years and the kids have struggled for years.

Life eventually got better when I found fab and that aspect has been amazing.

My personal life has been rubbish until some surprising good luck came my way. That was the point I coukd honestly say I was happy.

Life now has changed again. Relationships are no more. The kids are fine. Work has come good finally but hope one day I can say I am honestly happy again.

So no it didnt turn out the way I hoped. But I have 2 great kids and a amazingly stupid family.

In the past year my work has taken a new path which has led me to a new job I started last Friday and will be fulltine after the Easter holidays.

Life has taught me that men will not be honest with me as I would like but at least I have loved a man with every part of me. To thanks my lucky stars I met him but to find a new way through now.

Still not sure what is for the best but its steppibg forward.

I am alive and having fun but love to be completely happy again.

No mine isn't the life I would have expected or wanted but that has been my doing (apart from the shit ex husband) but I cant say I'm unhappy. I have a wonderful son, lovely family and a job I enjoy. If I could change one thing, it would be to have a little bit more money.

Nope mine has planned out how I wanted it to, as a kid I wanted to play pro rugby league that was my dream, things didn't pan out the way I hoped, but now I've got a job I really enjoy doing not the best paid but you can't have everything, a wife who loves me 2 kids who although a bit gobby are really good. And have these heads screwed on some good friends life is pretty good to be honest

You need to make the effort every week to see your daughter, that way the lies your ex tells she'll be able to see for herself were lies. Even if your ex doesn't let you in the house etc, your daughter will see you making the effort. Provide the things she needs, shoes, clothes, books etc too. If you give up on her, your ex has won as to your daughter you didn't make the effort.

I've had 3 court orders put in place, which she hasn't stuck too, so I've fought for 7 years, it broke my heart when my daughter rang me new year and told me she doesn't wanna see me anymore, she just wanted to stay with mum and her new husband

When i was about 17/18 up to 22 i never imagined my life could be as "normal" as it is now. Yes i have y illness to contend with which i did have then as well but i never thought id be as settled, never thought id have had a child or get married. And i certainly didnt think i would end up with someone like jay in my life.

If i hadnt gone through all the shit i dont think id aappreciat what i have today. Yes it can still be difficult but im more settled than everin my life

Never got why some women don't allow a father child relationship...I love the fact that i have a break and my girl has the best relationship ever with her dad....My boys lost their father when very young and have very few memories of him and its a shame that the children that could have that have it taken away from them because of bitterness

Great thread, OP - I am not doing what I had set out to do. In fact there were several times when I could have changed direction and did not, and then there were times when I prompted a change in career as I have never truly settled in one job. I have a low boredom threshold and so needed a few directional changes.

In my home life I could not be happier with the way my children turned out and my life is now.

I cannot ever see myself "retired" as I will always be doing some kind of work, not necessarily full-time and possibly more than one type of work... I thrive on being busy.

Would you have been happier knowing what your future would bring? Part of the problem is, people look as time one straight line, when in fact it's curved and meanders . It's these constant too-ing and fro-ing that adds excitement.

The feelings of " here we go again" or wow that's new , that's what makes life so interesting. I neither regret the monumental cock ups iv made, nor do I dwell on them. Just pull up your pants and live your life. The only thing I ever regret are the people I have hurt, maybe causing their life to meander in another direction. We all live. We all love and we all move on xx

Thanks for sharing your stories....some sad stories. You have it all when you're a teenager and if you don't or haven't got out of life what's you wanted yet then it may just be round the corner.

I just want to make sure that the people I look after have the best oppotunitites for helping them in their life.

To the people that say their life is a disaster, is it really? If I focussed on all the crap that's happened to me it would be a real sob story.

I focus on the good stuff. It's ok.

If you look again, are you ok?

When I was a teenager I wanted to be a high class call girl in a big city - so working as an industrial trainer and still being in my rural sheepshagging town where everyone knows your business isn't quite how I envisaged it, but, do you know what??? I've a good job, great friends, healthy enough (apart from the arthritis), enough money to have nice holidays and being that Unicorn of swinging, a single bi female I can get my sexual kicks that way so yeah, life is pretty good for me

My life has been a roller coaster, but im sure if i wrote two lists on my death bed, all the bad times and all the good times the good times would outway the bad times. We just tend to remember the negatives more

Way over Yonder, that's where I'm bound

I don't know. The teenage me had lots of ambition but way too much libido.

I suppose I took for granted that I would find love and have children. I can't do anything about the children now but I don't give up totally on love.

My libido meant I didn't have the career I thought I would like to go into but I have done things I could not have thought of and have had more success than could have been imagined. It's all fleeting.

I have had tragedies and comedies. I now drift a bit but it probably won't be forever. Tomorrow is another day.
