Retirement Village

Having been on and off the site for a bit there are a few annoyances i have such as...

- Text Speak

- Bad English (like using your instead of you're or there instead their)

- Winks from people who then ignore or block you when you wink back

- People who claim to be genuine and call others fake yet all their veri's are by webcam

- Really stupid veri's (i read one in which a guy verified a lass in person and said in the text "i've met her in my head can't wait for the real thing"

So thought to start this thread for people to dump their thoughts on what annoys them. Maybe admin will pick up on this and see if there's anything they can change to improve or get rid of peoples annoyances

If anyone has an idea that could improve the site, post it where admin expect to see it. i.e. the site feedback forum.

Don't let it bother you

No one site is perfect and perfection to one person is disarray to another.

Besides, perfection can become boring in itself

I mean, if the site was perfect, you would have had to have thought about something else to moan about (and we all like a good moan don't we ?)

I dont let any of it bother me. Got better things to worry about personally.

I think the only real annoyance I have is when I am messaged by someone who wants to Skype, or lives 300 miles away, or who hasn't sent a pic, or all three!! Thats fine, some people struggle to read the few lines of my profile. But when I delete they then message back with a 'so thats a no then?' A) Yes mate, its a no, and B) if you've got time to refresh your sent list then you had time to read my profile. *sigh*

My biggest annoyance is deleting a new message from someone I am not interested in, then I get the inevitable message asking why they were deleted, trying to be helpful I reply with the reasons why and make a few suggestions, only to be met with a sarcastic response. Block.

Or if I do reply with a polite no thank you and good luck I get begging messages asking why or trying to persuade me otherwise or they will periodically send more messages in the hopes that I may have changed my mind. Resulting in a block.

And guys wonder why people just delete instead of replying, you just can't win...

WOW!!

A few random responses, not quite the reaction i was hopeing to get or the discusson i wanted to kick off. I posted this as a general thread on annoyances. I could have called it "good/bad day" thread where you say what's made your day good or bad. This isn't a moaning thread even though some people have seen it that way. It was general observations which get on my nerves a bit and nothing specific.

I'm not going to answer each comment individually but will say to those who shared thier annoyances, thank you. May be anyone who reads this can learn from it and not do what specifically annoys you.

To those who said don't let it get to me and chill out. I can assure you there's very little that gets to me but your wise words are appreciated.

Your point duely noted even though the idea behind the thread was misinterpretted. I'll keep quiet and not say a word just incase I upset annoy you

I am aware of the feedback section but I doubt admin can fix my annoyances as they are very general. Although credit to them in trying to sort our the stupid verification point. There is a caveat saying not to leave verifications in person unless you have met in person. So nowt really they can do if people aren't too wise to follow the rules
