In my area of Germany the "Christkind" brings presents on Xmas eve. The door to the living room was locked that we could not go in (parents prepare the night before).

Inquisitive young me tried to look through the windows from outside...shutters down.

But when I peeked through the keyhole in the door I saw a light. I saw the Christkind... I was about 6 or 7 probably. A nice memory...

Very similar to you OP. My mum would let me open 1 on Christmas eve(randomly it was always jammies lol)but on Christmas morning I wasn't allowed to go down until she had rapped my door and we went down together to see if 'santa' had been

Being together as a big extended family grandparents down to grandkids. Too many no longer with us and all gone our seperate ways

Not the best memory, but one year I snuck downstairs at about 3am. I opened ally presents on my own in the cold. Then went back to bed and got up with everyone else. I had the most miserable time as they were opening presents and I had nothing to open

My favourite memory off Xmas are mostly came in my older age

And not because I didn’t have good Christmas as a child or anything like that quite the opposite my childhood Christmas were amazing

But it’s far more satisfying and special spending time playing games with family on Xmas and seeing the delightful ness on my sister and nephew faces on Xmas day

She’s a single mom and the dads a well let’s just say good for nothing so I always go above and beyond for them in terms off birthdays Xmas Easter and such she dose her best and stuggles so always love seening her face when I give her some over the top exavigent gift and love to see my nephew happy so he’s not saying my friends at school got a pc for Christmas or a ps5 for Christmas how come I didn’t get one

Yes he got one

I get a telling off on Xmas morning off dad and step mum and sister always says I shouldn’t have done that but at the end off the day they happiness is what’s important I am single I can’t take it with me

My memories are going to my Nan and gramps and staying from Christmas Eve to the day after Boxing Day. Sat in their front room eating chocolates that my gramp had put out, the real fire burning away. Listening to Christmas Records or Watching a film (Flash Gordon or The Wizard of Oz was a usual Christmas choice).

Christmas Day we took it in turns going around opening our presents, a big Christmas Dinner, a snacky tea (mostly home-made in previous weeks). Homemade trifle, home-made custard slices. Lots of choice in booze in their little corner glass drinks cabinet.

Boxing Day was a turkey fry up made with all the left over veg. Was bootiful, real bootiful!

My childhood Christmas’s were the best of times. I was very lucky.

My kids have a slightly less traditional Christmas as they are either with me or their dad, but I hope their memories of Christmas as a child will be as good.

I remember waking my mum and dad up at 5.30 and running downstairs and peaking under the living room door and could see bicycle tyres and shouting hes been hes been get up, mustve been about 6, wish i could go back to then

For me when I was little it was unwrapping a SNES because that was the first console I got that wasn't a hand me down.

As for now it was the whole Christmas Eve set up with my little boy. Reindeer dust on the ground outside, milk and a biscuit out for Santa and hanging up the stocking. He's 8 now so this will probably be the last year he buys into it.

"Little Jesus" brings the presents in Hungary.

Santa is coming on the 6th of December bringing sweets or a small wooden stick(Virgacs), if you were naughty.

I think most countries have similar traditions there.

I usually didn't wait until the 24th.

Searched for the hidden presents at least a week before.

Have 2! First one I was very young not long in a "big" bed my cot was still in my room and my dad came in Xmas morning and said look there's a baby in your cot it was my first baby doll! I still have her in my bedroom sat on my chest of drawers! The second was few years later I forgot it was Xmas day I had crawled along to bottom of bed to go to loo (as had to jump of end quick as brother told me there were monsters grabing legs under bed) and something rustled on end of bed when I came back from loo looked and it was a stocking x
