The 2nd Rule

The game starts on December 1st, and finishes at the end of December 24th.

The 3rd Rule

Only the original version applies.

The 4th Rule

You're out as soon as you recognise the song.

I just need to avoid supermarkets now.

I can go without wham. The American version of the most annoying song is Mariah Carey all I want for Christmas. It is overplayed and I just want to gouge my eardrums out with a spoon.

Thought about it, but I like the atmosphere with Christmas songs playing.

Last year I got round Asda and through the checkout, then heard the first bars as I was leaving.

It'll be Asda that gets me this year.

One year, I played and got to 23rd December and was still in.

Then, I accidentally knocked a button in my car as I was parking and switched the radio on...

I literally screamed "NOOOOOOOOO!" so loudly, passers by became concerned.

I've never got over it and have vowed never to play again.

...not that I'm competitive or anything...

I'm very surprised I didn't hear much Christmas music in Westfield at all.

I nearly got Whammed at my sister's but she told me to cover my ears, because she could hear it either coming from the television (we were watching The Holiday and chatting), or coming from the kitchen.

Simplest solution is to listen to Radio Caroline. They don't play any of this Christmas crap (Not yet, anyway).

"Still going strong here, although I fear for the future now as I mistakenly threw my headphones away with my gym bag.

Uh oh, does the gym play Christmas tunes?

"

There’s a couple of coaches who use Christmas playlists but I can avoid there shifts.

"I got whammed on Saturday at our works Christmas party. I was so annoyed I told the DJ off!

Should have told him to give everyone a heads up when he was going to play it so Whammers can leave the room "

I did tell him he should avoid playing it at future events whilst shaking my fist at him. I *might* have been a bit tipsy at the time

Ditto - not sure how I have managed it as current music listening is 1980s and has included Enola Gay and That's Entertainment (though they are a few years ahead of Wham's Last Christmas)

I'll run in and out and try to ignore the music.

In a ball gown because that's how we roll in N. Devon

Apparently it was played several times at the market I was at on Saturday. I didn't even notice, much to the disappointment of others who were caught out. Hopefully the same will happen throughout the remaining markets. And after Christmas Eve... I'll put my hearing aid back on during markets
