If you can replace the word with he or she or another subject pronoun, use who. If you can replace it with him or her (or another object pronoun), use whom.

I don’t know why it’s annoying me so much at the moment!

I hear ya

My irk is when people say “I” instead of “me”. Eg “David and I went to the shops” is correct, “would you like to come to the shops with David and I” is incorrect. In the second example it should be ‘David and me’.

Please note I am not going to the shops. however I am going to work in a little while

Finally, after all these years, someone has managed to provide a simple explanation of which to use and when.

Thank you Fluffy x

- Who is ringing the bell? (He is….)

- Who danced with whom? (He danced with her.)

.

Her/Him/Them

Whom is the object of an action.

- For whom does the bell toll? (It tolls for him.)

- To whom shall I write? (Write to her.)

.

He-ho Him-hom (He/who Him/whom)

I apologise to those whom I may have further confused. (I apologised to them).
