This is what chefs call bits of batter from the fryer...

We always called them "batter bits"

Used to have them sprinkles on my chips, peas sausage and curry sauce from the chippy on lunch times at school!

Scrumps here.

They used to make loads of extra ones at lunchtime, for all the school kids asking for them with a bag of 'open' chips.
