Your vice? The thing you spend a few quid on here and there? Coffees? Cakes? Clothes?

Mines audiobooks. I roughly added up how much I’d spent on audible in the last 4 years and it was almost £2k!

Do you think you could do a sunak and give it up, save your pennies and suddenly have enough for a deposit on a house?

Books & I hate it!

I do not like spending on myself but I've got a thing for collectable books.

They look so pretty though and provide a great distraction to escape into a world of a book.

The buyers guilt though

No there aren’t! Get yourself some Meindl “Burma” if you can the old fashioned ones without the Goretex lining in them.. they are brilliant. Oh I think I still have some very early “Fighting Arts” magazines from the early 80’s. I might be prepared to sell at a very reasonable price!

I might have some very rare Terry O’Neil stuff as well. I did some training with him many, many years ago but I would have to go ratching around at my parents house to find it.

I can’t afford really expensive Patek Phillips and the like, so I just search around on eBay for nice looking watches with a decent movement and get them as cheap as I can.

Oh I always found Scarpas too narrow. They are well made though. I believe their high altitude boots are very good, but I bought a pair of leather meindl’s that will take a crampon and I have used them for winter stuff and high stuff.

I don’t get up on the hills enough to justify paying for the top end mountaineering boots

I spend too much money on books and audiobooks that I sometimes don’t even read.

"Hiking gear. There are always better boots out there

No there aren’t! Get yourself some Meindl “Burma” if you can the old fashioned ones without the Goretex lining in them.. they are brilliant. Ok they are not a five season mountain boot, for that go for the Bhutan’s ( but quite frankly if you are going for seriously high stuff there are more specialised and probably better ones to go for.

My only way left to go now is to go for hand made boots… and I can’t afford that

I do go a bit high. I have even started working towards the mountain leader training program. I prefer Scarpa boots though. It fits well for the shape of my feet.

Oh I always found Scarpas too narrow. They are well made though. I believe their high altitude boots are very good, but I bought a pair of leather meindl’s that will take a crampon and I have used them for winter stuff and high stuff.

I don’t get up on the hills enough to justify paying for the top end mountaineering boots "

Yeah my feet are narrow. Scarpa does have crazy priced mountaineering boots. I stick to the low and mid ranged ones.

Apart from handbags and jewellery, the most money spent over the years will be on cars!

Chocolate. Definitely. A piece a day keeps the blues away.

Meals out, and quality food to cook good meals at home.

A fancy fine wine club subscription.

There is a theme here...

Do they ever make it?"

Yeah sometimes. Got a stable income of 20 million pesos a week now so that’s good

"I love watches.

I can’t afford really expensive Patek Phillips and the like, so I just search around on eBay for nice looking watches with a decent movement and get them as cheap as I can.

I have bought some right old crocks of sh!t doing that though and there are so many watches that claim to be one thing and when you get them and open them up, they are a load of rubbish "

I know if I had my way, watches would be my thing. I’m yet to venture into buying my first expensive watch. And I know the one I want.

I’m patient.

"Your vice? The thing you spend a few quid on here and there? Coffees? Cakes? Clothes?

Mines audiobooks. I roughly added up how much I’d spent on audible in the last 4 years and it was almost £2k!

Do you think you could do a sunak and give it up, save your pennies and suddenly have enough for a deposit on a house? "

Unfortunately for me its smoking atm, although i am trying to quit but struggling. Its such a waste of money to me.

But to treat myself I would probably say i spend the most on some nice food when I can

Holidays. I love foreign holidays. 7 so far this year and maybe one more between Christmas and new year. I’ve spent thousands in the last 20 odd years on holidays and don’t plan to stop.
