Well past her best. How did she have all that success and yet still have to be putting it about at the age of 80?

However, had some of the best written songs of her time.

Only when it's supported by the evidence.

Pet Clarke has been strutting her stuff on the One Show, Woman's Hour and, no doubt, elsewhere, all week.

I was fan in her, and my, youth but she's passed her best.

we are all past our best at certain times in our lives.... Ffs, we are talking about a tv programme and singer that was broadcast in the 60s/70s when sheWAS still in her prime...

Agreed. I got confused. Pet Clarke has been so ubiquitous of late I mistakenly thought that's who we were discussing.

Apologies to the memory of the late Dusty Springfield.

Dusty was and in my opinion still is one of the greatest singers ever. The tone and pitch of her voice is amazing . She never over sang a song unlike so many singers today.
