What food(s) that you had(whether you ate it or not) as a youngster that you either loved or hated?

Was it something that your parents/other family members or school dinners.

My primary school dinners were fantastic, the cooks were farmers wives, do always tasty home cooked food rather than processed frozen.

Staffordshire

I always loved Nannas liver and onions with creamy mashed potatoes

You don’t see it on menus these days and my kids would think I was trying to kill then if I tried feeding them it.

I did not like seafood and especially any kind of shellfish, crustaceans or echinoderms. I did not mind a little bit of fish. Now I can't get enough of everything

Corned beef hash. I’ve not had it for years. And I’d love some now. It was a cheap dish, but have you seen the price of those tins now??

Lambs liver is nice, I don't like pigs. My daughter turned her nose up at liver a few yrs ago then tried some and thought it was nice.

I loved my school dinners too.

Spent years trying to find "gypsy" tart which was a staple pudding for us at school, until I discovered that Morrisons sells it!

A dangerous discovery for my waistline...

The only way to improve spam……dip it in batter and deep fry it.

It was kind of like sausage that was in like a red wax tube a bit like pate used to be in a tube. But she'd slice it to make sandwiches, I've not seen it in years, off to Google to see if it still exists.
