Snooping

In conversation with a work colleague a few years ago, she admitted that when she goes to someone's house she has a good snoop and a rummage through their bathroom drawers/cupboard when she uses the bathroom. Another colleague then divulged partaking of similar behaviour!

So, do you, or have you ever done this? If so, are you just being nebby, or are you looking for something in particular?

That's creepy. No

(Or only with permission with people I know pretty well, and it's stuff like, "you're nearly out of bog roll, I'll replace it if you want"

I have not and never would. My question is to the people that owned up to doing it, were they laughing or said it like normal like its no biggie or were they quiet and embarresed?

Carlisle usually

The only people I allow in my space are the people who already know exactly what to expect and I don't keep anything hidden away anyway.

But people are terrible

Oh no, they were laughing about it in a very unashamed way and clearly didn't think they'd done anything wrong! I thought it was pretty messed up tbh, and ever since then I've been wary of keeping certain things in my bathroom cupboard and keep them in my bedroom instead.

That's the problem- I wouldn't have said either of these people were 'creepy weirdos', since they were both very boringly normal women in their 40's. Just makes me not want to trust anyone, especially with some of the threads/posts on here when men have admitted to sniffing knickers from someone's dirty laundry hamper when they've been working in a house as a plumber/electrician/maintenance etc.

First of all, it's creepy behaviour.

Secondly, what exactly are they hoping to find in the bathroom drawers? Why would anyone hide anything secretive in a damn bathroom drawer knowing that other people aren't going to use it?

Everyone has the potential to be a creepy weirdo.

Very much agree about the crappy men who go through drawers and dirty laundry.

Keep everyone out.

I wouldn't call anyone who did this a friend and if I knew they had done it somewhere else they would never set foot in my house.

I have a friend who had workmen go through her drawers and underwear and her housemates also when they weren't home. It's a massive invasion of privacy regardless of who is doing it and whether you know them or not.

Apparently some boringly normal women in their 40s are creeps. Because they're clearly creeps.
